Need We Say More? Audi Pounds Out 46th Record Sales Month In A Row - Up 16.5% In October
Audi reported that its October 2014 sales increased 16.5% to 15,150 vehicles, a total that stands as the 46th consecutive month of record monthly U.S. sales for the brand. Audi U.S. sales year-to-date increased 14.7% to 146,133 vehicles.

Audi continued to maintain a robust record sales pace throughout 2014, with the best-ever October results. The previous October record was set in 2013 with sales of 13,001 vehicles.

To date, 2014 has produced eight of the ten best sales months in the history of Audi of America. Through October, 2014 Audi U.S. sales already stand as the second-best year for the brand on record. Audi set an annual record of 158,061 vehicles sold in 2013, topping the previous record of 139,310 vehicles sold in 2012.

“We can confidently predict that 2014 will end as the fifth-consecutive record year for Audi sales in the U.S.,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “Our annual Season of Audi year-end sales event will bring a strong finish to a year distinguished by the successful launch of the Audi A3 models and sustained high demand for Audi SUV models.”

Sales of Audi SUV models remained strong in October, as they have throughout the year, resulting in lean inventories. For the January-October period, Audi Q5 sales rose 5.3%, leaving 29 days’ supply of inventory; Audi Q7 sales increased 21.9% and left 26 days’ supply; Audi Q3 sales-to-date were 2,018 and resulted in 14 days’ supply.

Ever since the U.S. sales debut of the 2015 Audi A3 family in April, it has maintained a solid and consistent sales pace. October 2014 resulted in 2,380 A3 sales, making these compact premium models one of the brand’s top sellers.

October is the 15th consecutive month of record sales for Audi Certified pre-owned. This month marked an increase of 13.7% and a total of 3,964 CPO vehicles sold; CPO sales year-to-date increased 18.3%.

Highlights:
- The 2015 Audi A3 models, including new sedan and Cabriolet variants, have generated sales of 17,049 units since the first of the family line models reached the U.S. in the spring.

Interesting. The 2 newest models (Q3, A3) along with the 2 of the oldest (Q5 and ancient Q7) are making up all the sales gains. A8 sales are a joke.

all-new Q3 sales were 1/3 the all-new GLA and ancient X1, despite the non-stop advertising.

Wow Acura outsold Audi with nearly half the model line up....

Yep but lets compare those numbers with worldwide volume. I bet it paints a different picture.

Well, of course it will paint a different picture, USNA1999, since Acura is not a worldwide brand. LOL

Actually this is the TLX is finally breathing life into a droll lineup.

I might remind you the just a few short years ago Acura had twice the sales of Audi and Infiniti was pulling away from them. But now the tables have turned and Audi is ahead of both.

True statement, 009, but had Acura not had a delay of about 3 months with the TLX, Audi's lead may not be what it is today.

And let's take the full context into consideration. Based on models and powertrain availability (not even considering trim levels available), Audi offers a total of 44 models. Acura currently offers 11. Clearly, Audi's lineup has grown considerably over the years, whereas Acura's has actually shrunken. Not trying to take anything away from Audi, mind you, but with that many vehicles to choose from, one would certainly expect to see a high(er) number of closed sales every month.

@ cidflekken - Not sure if Acura can reel them in for the entire year with the current lineup. However if that changes then it by all means it is possible.

The crazy thing about Audi Sales is they are have record sales and then the next year back it up again and again. That is VERY hard to do.

Look at VW, they blew it out in 2013 and couldn't back it up in 2014. Audi at least keeps bringing out new models and changing the mix. VW can learn a few things from it's sister.

Absolutely, can't disagree with that at all. HOWEVER, the only caveat I'll add to that is this: when you start from a low point, the only place to go is up. Let's not forget that both Mercedes and BMW are also sporadically still setting monthly records, too, despite starting from a higher comparison point. Again, not trying to take anything away from Audi's accomplishments, just bringing full perspective into the discussion.

I also laid this out on another thread. These are the models offered by the luxury brands. You can glean from this what you want as far as sales chart placement. But from what I see, it's impressive that Mercedes is hanging with BMW and it's not as impressive how far behind Audi is:

Audi offers a total of 42 models plus 3 RS models (total is 45, not 44 that I stated above)
BMW offers a total of 83 models plus 7 M models
Mercedes offers a total of 35 models plus 16 AMGs (this will obviously change when the full line of the C-Class is rolled out in the coming years)
Lexus offers a total of 33 models (not incl. RC/RC-F/NX)

Welp, the CLA bested the A3 again by over 200 units and the GLA slaughtered the Q3 with 2007 units vs 682. Oh, and the S-Class sold over 5x's as many A8's. So, yes, the "consecutive month" achievement for Audi is remarkable, but when taken in the context of the bigger picture, maybe it's not as great as it seems.

S-Class Coupe really pushed up the S numbers. WOW. GLA is on its way to stardom. C is taking away from the E it seems, they better fix that soon.

GLA will be a star, just like the CLA

Double digit growth is EASY when you're so far behind Mercedes in sales volume in the USA. Audi's sales are LOW so even a modest increase seems amazing. I can tell you the incentives behind the scenes are MASSIVE. A3 or Jetta GLI? You can easily have the A3 for the same or less than the GLI the incentives are that big.

Remember: LEASE DON'T BUY.

What a retard. CR is wrong about what they consider reliability. JDP puts Mercedes #2 right behind Lexus for long term reliability.

The E-Class Facelift, S-Class, S Coupe, SL, GL and the new C are all solid products.

You don't know what you're talking about.

BOB you're a dumb arse, the article is from 2006 when Mercedes was having widespread problems.
