Study Says Car States Vote Democrat And Truck States Vote Republican: With Trucks Sales On The Upswing Are We Changing Into A Republican Nation?

Here we have data on the best-selling vehicles by state in 2014, and how those states voted in the last election. Basically, this indicates a correlation between the popularity of trucks and voting Republican. But I think it looks more like trucks are taking over America.

Here's break-down of which states had a truck line as their top selling vehicle this year, and which trucks those were:

2014 looks like a truck year. Anyone tired of trucks and cars? Maybe we need a motorcycle voting year.

Funny how the most desirable cities or ones with the biggest opportunities also happen to be in "car states" NYC, L.A, Chicago, Miami, and Vegas LOL, don't get me wrong I enjoy VISITING those truck states, on my way to living or working in the car states!

You do realize MISSISSIPPI is the POOREST state in the nation right??? Chicago has debt, show me a city in this country without any debt and I'll show you an accountant who cooked the books

You should get out more. Of all the cities you listed, quality of life is crap and the crime rates are among the worst. Colorado (technically a Subaru and SUV state) and Texas have provided more opportunity to me than either of those and I've lived in 2 that you mention. Here is a good read for you too.

trmckin - - - I read your Forbes link and see the following:
" - - - raw growth the Austin area wins at No. 2 in the nation with an expected 5-year annual growth rate of 3.9%."

The interesting thing about that is the most desirable city in Texas is the most Democratic city in Texas. Progressive on medical, progressive on same sex marriages, progressive in university teaching, progressive technology companies. Wow - - - almost sounds like a lower cost of living silicon valley (well minus the weather, beaches and mountains and ethnic diversity).

Nah trmckin, I'm good, the heat is miserable in Texas and the relaxed "slower" pace of living is great for a few days but then it gets annoying.

The country in terms of sheer population has been more left than right for a LONG time now. Gerrymandering and the electoral college are what's keeping it close in terms of representation.

God willing, this country will NOT turn into a right wing, Fox News watching, Rush Limbaugh listening, pick up truck driving, NASCAR loving, assault rifle desiring, gay bashing, women hating, minority hanging, trailor park living, Washington Times reading (the term "reading" used lightly), tea partying, Ted Cruz loving, regressive country.

Far left or far right is bad. When calling out the other side, probably shouldn't paint with such a broad and hateful brush. Neither extreme side is good for this country. Both are intolerant and narrow minded. You just showed your own level of intolerance with your post.
