First Shots Of A Totaled 2015 Mustang Show Airbags Failed To Deploy

Please excuse the potato quality of the photos in the gallery below, but this is the first ever totaled Mustang from the 2015 model year S550 breed. It may appear at first as your ordinary frontal crash situation, where the structural damage eclipses the cosmetic one, but we do have a burning curiosity.

Without further ado, why did the airbags didn’t deploy? The only shot depicting the dashboard doesn’t show any signs of deployment whatsoever - no driver’s airbag, not even the industry-first active glovebox knee airbag on the front passenger's side. And “the impact wasn’t violent enough” excuse does not apply because that’s no 15 mph crash there.

Really? I would have expected this lame article at a lame car site… AirBags don't deploy on any and all frontal crashes… In fact its safer that way. But 009 & cidflekken probably already know that.

Ugh… Filing under Lame.

Air bags do not deploy in all situations. The car may have been parked and then hit.
