LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW: LEAKED! Pictures Of The Newly Refreshed Mazda CX-5 EXPOSE What's Soon To Come
The Mazda CX-5 has been a pretty successful compact sport-utility vehicle for the tiny Japanese automaker. We think Mazda's market timing couldn't have been better as in-market consumers are setting their sights on SUVs.

And while the CX-5 has done OK in The States, you wouldn't believe how well it has been doing in Japan. To keep this short, it blew away expectations.

It seems that Mazda is going to continue to strike while the iron's hot and is rushing to refresh the CX-5. We only know this because newly leaked images are showing what is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) CX-5 that has been refreshed.

While we cannot be certain, it's possible that Mazda will show it off at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show alongside the likes of the all-new MX-5 Miata and CX-3 SUV. That's what I'll put MY money on!

Check out the snaps below!

Unimaginative and Camry dull. Not ugly, but not inspired looking.

This is a great little SUV that handles and performs well in all tests...always gets highest marks for 'fun-to-drive' along with great gas mileage. The other thing is that the design is just the right mixture of sport and style...unlike some other little small utes that are way over-priced derivatives of cheaper cousins.

I'd take an Escape.

I once own an RX7 years ago and I didn't have problems with their rotary engine. I think this SUV looks good too.

This car basically beats BMW X3 and Audi Q3 completely, as the car is meant to beat all the German competitors.

The CX-5 is a sweet CUV. The refresh will make it even tougher to out-do by the competition. Basically, here's how it goes (IMO) when it comes to affordable CUVs:
1) Subaru Forester, base and XT - safest, best AWD, best visibility, XT is very sporty
2) CX-5 - also safe, slightly worse visibility, sportiest apart from Forester XT
3) CR-V - probably the most reliable
4) Santa-Fe Sport and Sorento - safe enough, reliable enough, turbo or V6 variants are sporty enough. Biggest problem is all-or-nothing option pricing.
5) Escape - mehhh
6) Rav 4 - what happened to this thing, the old V6 one was awesome

LOL @ 'Escape' comment. That thing is either the most recalled Econobox, that suddenly approaches $40k when all the right option packages are selected...then you have the most recalled, over-priced Econobox.
