RENDERED SPECULATION: If Audi Produces An X6 Competitor That Looks Like THIS, Would You Buy It Over The BMW?
Although many critics of Audi have said the company's styling treatments are too bland and too conservative, there's one thing that's certain: the designs are good. We like to describe them as your classic made-to-measure black suit. It may be a bit too predictable but the fit and trimming is done so well you can't help but appreciate it.

Why do you think so many people are STILL lusting after cars like the A5/S5 and A7? Their designs have some longevity in them when compared to the rest of the automotive marketplace.

While we're very interested in the A9 concept making its way to the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, I will say that the rumors that Audi is working on a BMW X6 competitor struck me. For an automobile that many people harpooned with harsh criticism over its design, there sure are a lot in driveways and it seems auto builders are happy to emulate the X6. Mercedes is on its way and rumor has it Audi is next.

So, when an artist rendered what they thought an Audi X6-wannabe would look like, they produced our cover image.

What do YOU think?

I'm surprised that the hoary old VW Toerag HASN'T already produced an Audi and Porsche "X6". I like the X5 but find the X6 to be disgusting. I can get my head around SUVs being overweight barges because there is some utility to them, but the coupe SUVs reduce utility and increase cost so you're left with truly pointless vehicle.

The Germans love pointless niches and Audi is slow to the game on this one.

The sad thing today is that German automotive design is so formula, that anyone with a computer can create new model rederings in an increasingly predictable line-up.

Now Audi is copying BMW ugly ass end. I wouldn't buy this ugly thing that is beginning to look s like the Pontiac "Asstec" cousin.

As long as Audi continues to "style" their vehicles essentially the same - regardless of price point - to the point that you cannot actually tell the difference between an A3 and an A8 unless you are up close - there exists no reason to replace your OLD Audi with a new one that doesn't look newer.

Same cow catcher grill - same front end look - Blah!

I thought this concept sucked when BMW invented it, so of course I am thrilled to see that everyone else is going to make one too.

Correction: I mean when SsangYong invented it.
