LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW: CONFIRMED! The All-New Cadillac ATS-V Is OFFICIALLY Coming — 450hp? 500hp? MORE?
Alright sports car fans, the time you **may** have been waiting for is coming. Really soon.

At the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, Cadillac has officially confirmed the all-new ATS-V will appear for the very first time. This shouldn't come a HUGE surprise given that the car was seen completely naked only weeks ago.

This is big news for the super sport sedan and sport coupe class, which boasts the likes of the 2015 BMW M3/M4 and all-new Mercedes-AMG C63. The ATS-V should be an interesting addition to the mix as we've seen Cadillac do remarkable things in the past with its outstanding CTS-V.

Can it do it again? I wouldn't be surprised if General Motors pulls a rabbit out of a hat this time around.

If I was putting money on it, I wouldn't suspect the ATS-V to be the best-in-breed option but I would wager that it will be something you'll get in and not want to stop driving. GM did it with the CTS-V, I don't see why they can't do it again.

The brilliance of the CTSV was that it was not trying to be a BMW but rather a great Cadillac. The CTSV had a feel of American Muscle Car to it that (1) the Germans are clueless to understand the allure of and (2) even if they did they would charge way too much for.

The ATSV and the RCF will provide new flavors.

Looks good at first glance, lets hope it is competitive… just a different flavor of exciting driving. White is not so flattering though, I think it will look better in dark colors…and if they could just make those headlights narrower ala the El Mirage...

The Elmiraj headlights would be great.

I still fail to see the brilliance in Johan de Nutjob renaming Cadillacs alphabet soup with more alphabet soup.

The ATS is a wonderful car and the ATSV will make a name for itself and just as it does, the idiot that left Audi and Infiniti rather than getting fired for his incompetence will flush that name.

Why does it have to be competitive at all

It should - like the CTS-V -exist in its own space - as an American Luxury Muscle car - and not compete with the Euro cars.

But in the overall scheme of things - the volume of cars that will be sold probably will not justify even having made the car. Cadillac needs a hit in the regular versions of the car first - and the ATS has turned out to be a miss in the USA - as has the new CTS. IF the new CT6 turns out to be another high priced small inside car - Cadillac will be in trouble as a "car" maker. Apparently they can sell Luxury Trucks well though.

I am thinking 450-475 at most. It's only a 3.6 V6.
