#LAAUTOSHOW: RENDERED SPECULATION — THIS Is What The Mercedes-Maybach MAY Look Like On The Street, Engine DETAILS Revealed
For a very long time we kept a close eye out on the development of Mercedes-Benz's latest project, the Mercedes-Maybach. Although Maybach may have technically closed its doors years ago, the three-pointed star is going to give it another go and make it a sub-brand under the Mercedes nameplate.

Essentially, the Mercedes-Maybach will be an even more stretched S-Class sedan with more luxurious accoutrements to make any C-level executive or head of state giggle like a little schoolgirl.

Now although we've seen A LOT of spy pics and video of these vehicles sporting AMG body kits and trim, in a conference Mercedes' top personnel did not mention any AMG variants. As of now there will be three engines offered in Maybach form:

- An S400 featuring a 3.0-liter V6
- An S500/550 featuring a 5.5-liter bi-turbo V8
- An S600 featuring a 6.0-liter bi-turbo V12

No word on whether the U.S. market will receive the S400 or S550 variant, yet. Since the S600 will debut in Los Angeles, we're assuming that's a definite "green light" for The States.

...The range-topping Mercedes-Maybach S600 will be powered by a 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbocharged gasoline engine producing 530 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. Just below that will be the S500 version of the new sedan, which will use a twin-turbocharged V8 making 455 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. The base model in the range will be a V6 version that will make use of the corporate 3.0-liter engine, rated at 333 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. The S400 4Matic will reportedly be aimed at markets, such as China, with punitive taxes toward large-displacement cars. At least for now, it will be the sole all-wheel-drive model in the range....

Are you talking about those pictures? Then that thing is a normal S class...what are you talking about

Use your bloody eyes. It's a photo that was rendered and fooled around with to give it the same door shut lines.

Pay attention the rear door. The lines are subtlety different.

You don't call that "anything". If you want to fool anyone, at least put down Maybach logos on both sides of the vehicle as the teaser shows it.

And bloody? What the hell do you think you are, a British?

One of these days you're going to be acting like a moron at 4 am and I will just ban you because I am half asleep.

That sounds very professional.

Yes. Clearly different. From the small pictures that have been released so far, I believe the real car will be even more elegant than these renderings. We should know in a few hours...

The Maybach will again FAIL miserably because once again it will just be a stretched, blubbery looking S Class. It's so nice that Mercedes feels compelled to keep a brand alive that is synonymous with Hitler's Third Reich.

These "rendering speculations" look just like an S-class stretch. That's one of the reasons Maybach failed the first time around.

It IS an S-class stretch. This time around Maybach is basically just a top end trim level. The Chinese market has come a long way since the 57 and 62 debuted. The interior looks gorgeous on this car - I predict this time they will succeed.

The new Maybach will be viewed much differently than the previous Maybach. When Mercedes introduced the previous Maybach line, its reputation was in a downturn from a quality and reliability standpoint. Lexus had successfully stole their place in the US and BMW was running circles around them, literally. The S-Class at that time was strong, but the 7 Series and LS were at the same level, if not above it. Times are different now. The new S-Class has set the standard extremely high and Mercedes' overall reputation is much better than previous.

Many people forgot the the RR Ghost is just a BMW 7 technically ( engine, suspensions, transmission ,,, ) they just change the design to make it looks like a RR... to me Ghost is just a bmw 7 over priced as well my friend , I will say the same thing for the Bentley Flyspur a VW Phoeton! I thing Mercedes did a good job on the new strategy about the Maybach.

I've seen an s600 here in Phoenix az while I was im traffic its gets attention but it's nothing like the Previous Maybach. It's an attention getter. But looking at the quality the previous had more lux while the current seems more of a long S550 with a m badge on the side stretched. But as far as the number of cost go ima spend my money on a Bentley just to look different from the rest.
