Toyota Almost Guaranteed To Break Audi Death Grip On FIA World Endurance Championship
Toyota Racing won the Six Hours of Bahrain on the weekend, completing its fifth victory from seven races of the 2014 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) season and giving Anthony Davidson and Sébastien Buemi the WEC drivers' title with a race to spare. The result almost guarantees Toyota will also win the manufacturers' Championship, extending its lead over Audi to 40 points with only 44 points available in the final race at Sao Paulo on November 30.

It is about time someone came in their and broke the cycle. It has been the Audi circus for far too long. Kudos to Toyota for such a brilliant effort.

I wish Audi would stick around to make it a battle next year, but Formula 1 seems to be the next step for them.

They mention in the article that "In retrospect, it was probably more due to the meticulous planning of an Audi team" but this is not the case. Toyota has won this year because of better planning (Bahrain,etc.). The biggest reason they did not win Lemans is budget. Audi placed three cars while Porsche and Toyota only two. If each had three cars it would have been Toyota, Porsche and Audi.

Have fun in boring F1 Audi. WEC is way way way way way better racing!!!!!

I agree WEC is pretty exciting, but the F1 races are not too bad.

I think Audi also has gotten bored over the years with WEC and need to push the envelope more in another series. Just look at the championship streak, it is pretty awesome but pathetic as well.

On the other hand it is no small feat to come into Audi's house and kick them around like Toyota has this year.

The only race that really matters in endurance racing is in France.
