#LAAUTOSHOW: RED Hot! Porsche's All-New 911 "Middler" Takes A Bow — FIRST Real-Life Pics Of The 911 (991) GTS

#LAAUTOSHOW: RED Hot! Porsche's All-New 911
As you may have realized over the years, we're fans of the Porsche 911. Although it may be technically flawed from an engineering perspective, it's tough to say that there is any one sports car that is as versatile and as lovable as the 911.

It's an automotive icon that has proved itself ON and OFF the track.

But I will be the first to admit that as it's gotten older, more loaded with technology and PDK, it's been a bit sad. That's because as a basic sports car it was gold.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a brilliant machine, but there's something about a 911 when it's in its purest form that's so damn addicting. So it was BIG news when the GT3 went to PDK only. Now if you want the most amount of juice, rear-wheel drive and a manual, your best option is the all-new 911 (991) GTS.

Created as a middler between the Carrera S models and the GT3 it's a representation of the best of both worlds. More power and fun without the harshness of a race-inspired sports car. And did I mention it has a manual gearbox? Right.

Scope out 001's great shots of the latest 911 making its way into the lineup.

Sat inside the red coupe today. Porsche would be dumb to get rid of the 911. Not everyone is short and can fit in the "cooler" supercars and exotics. Being 6'1 and broad shouldered, limits some of your choices. Cant go wrong with 911 though. Pretty much is the bar for the competition.

Did you sit in the Cayman?

If I can fit in it at 6'8, you can too.

Remember, the 911 was not always the most spacious auto. It's only as of late the car has been able to accommodate taller, wider folks.

Did sit in the Cayman. I fit. But it was more "claustriphobic" for me. My dad had an 83' 911, and he is my hieght, plus my friend at the time was 6'4 and I squashed in the back. My dad is broad shouldered too.

Agent00R I found the Corvette to be very tight inside. In fact if the roof was put on, it would hit my head.

what a timeless sports car, would love to see a Targa GTS while they're at it.
