#LAAUTOSHOW: ANOTHER Look At The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration — Does Its Panamera-Like Styling Get YOUR Vote?

#LAAUTOSHOW: ANOTHER Look At The Infiniti Q80 Inspiration — Does Its Panamera-Like Styling Get YOUR Vote?
Infiniti is fighting a tough battle right now. Although it seems like the Japanese automaker was onto something only a handful of years ago, it seems that it's struggling to find its identity today. With an onslaught of all-new products from the German contingent and strong competition from Lexus, it seems like there's a bit too much waivering and not enough action.

Take, for example, how the company pushed the Q50 to the market SUPER early and it's still selling G37s — now called the Q40 — in parallel. If anyone could explain how this is a beneficial strategy, I'd die to hear it.

Now every time I've recalled Infiniti launching a large luxury sedan, it flops. Remember the J30? Q45? Now the M, which is called the Q70. I don't remember the last time I've seen any of these on the road.

The company knows it needs something with juice and that will trump the competition. Could the Q80 Inspiration provide us some hints at what's to come? Probably.

Looking a bit like a mix between a Porsche Panamera meets Aston Martin Rapide meets Infintii Q50, it's a wild look. More importantly though, we're intrigued by what YOU think of this Infiniti concept.

Does the Q80 INSPIRATION have you excited about Infinti's future or is it MORE ASPIRATION when the company should be focusing on EXECUTION?

The styling is eye catching

However - rear view is likely to be extremely limited - and I do no think that would be acceptable (Sort of like a failure Buick had with a Riviera)

The problems are: It looks Japanese. It screams Japanese.

That didn't hurt the Nissan GTR.

It's a VERY sexy design! Hard to see many of those sumptuous curves making it to production though.

Hideous and disgusting. Repellent in every conceivable way. Was it styled by Renault because it looks like disgusting French turd.

Doesn't look anything like a Panamera to me. Looks like just another weird concept car that'll never get to production.

Gorgeous. Very expressive, and some very eye-catching, though-provoking design choices in here. The front fascia is particularly clever, the transition of flow from hood to pillar is extremely well executed, and the roof glass is nicely done, as well.

It's a very good concept--of course most of the ideas won't make it into production directly, but it's meant to show off Infiniti's design prowess, and that it does--very nicely.

Having said that, I wouldn't buy this, and I'm not sure how (or if) this will translate into product or sales success for Infiniti...but I do respect their design capabilities more, having seen this.

The Panamera is, in my opinion, one of the most ungainly looking expensive cars in the world right now. It's no contest, the Infiniti looks fabulous.

No wonder Infiniti can't gets no love, not even the so-called experts get it right. The only large luxury sedan was the Q45. The J30 was an attempt to have a competitive entrant in the mid-size segment but the styling was polarizing so it got replaced by the I30, then the M. The M although it is Infiniti's current flagship sedan (now called the Q70 but really the same car) is hardly a large size sedan as it competes in the 5, E, XF, A6 segment - you have to be completely bluffing that you don't know this. By the way just look at my avatar if you haven't seen one lately.
