REVIEW: New BMW X3

REVIEW: New BMW X3
The most significant change is the improvement in power. The 3-liter, inline 6-cylinder engine that gives the model its numerical designation gains 35 horses to 260 horsepower, with torque rising apace to 225 foot-pounds.

I agree. The "SUV that actually drives like the sports sedan" cliche is actually true here. People who hate on the X3 for all their various reasons just don't have the family responsibilities to understand why this is such a great thing to have around.

I drove a 2006 X3 3.0 yesterday as my 330i was getting service. I actually really liked the way it drove and found it surprisingly quicker than I imagined.

The only thing I really disliked was the interior plastic which is getting a redo with this model. The exterior could use a little work as well, but overall this looks much much better.

Plus the 335i coupe was in the showroom......WOW !!!!!!!!! Cant belive how friggin fast that car is!!!!! The power rush never stops !!!!

Disagree it was... Now its much nicer with a lovely interior OOO BTW the RX350 oe wateva is but ugly in australia the BMW X5 is head and 50 foot shoulders ahead of styling and the X3 wuld be a far distant 2nd followed by our own ford territory (have a loook at it a lovely car ud reli like it) and i mean the Q7 aint good looking reli and to tell u the truth its got a weird not very elegent interior (made like a bank vualt but of course) see im not biased at all i just love BMW's and i never liked the X3 but its a huge improvement now u have to admit

I got one word. RDX!

Get the Acura RDX and put that overpriced fat little BMW pig to shame.

I can't believe wannabes pay almost 40 grand for that uninspiring plastic piece of S**t.

ye the x3 is really ugly with that rubbermaid stuff all arounf the car, what is that? I think the Acura RDX is very nice. I would buy one over the X3.

Why would someone buy an X3 over a Touring (E91)? or vice versa? Or is the Touring targeted for Europe, and the X3 for the U.S.? (Yet they both seem to be offered in both places.)

I haven't liked the X3 at all since its introduction, and this new model is no different. The RDX makes it look like an overpriced, under-kitted, clumsy car (RDX is obviously more fun to drive), and it'll kill some sales if the MDX is any indication.

I have a quote from British "CAR" magazine on the X3: "A slower, clumsier 3 Series Touring. Tsk, tsk."

The top-selling luxury SUVs in the suburban world, according to my town:

1. RX330/RX400h/RX350
2. MDX
3. XC90
4. X5
And a distant 5th... Navigator

Actually, instead of "And a distant 5th... Navigator", it's "And a close 5th... Range Rover".

I completely forgot about that popular beauty!

Dont understand why anyone would buy the X3 over the new RAV4? A loaded V6 4x4 Limited RAV4 is $27,000 and takes 0-60 in 7.0 seconds flat. Another $3,000 in suspension/handling upgrades and you've saved $10,000 while having the sheer reliability and piece of mind of a Toyota.

actually the rav4 hits 60 in 6.3 seconds.

Ugly big station wagon.. Want an suv get one.. not a wannabe.. 40 50 K for this.. I will take a Tahoe and not be afraid to go off road and tow a boat. If you want a little thing to call an SUV get a rav4, crv, Vue and save some cash.. want to go fast buy a car and go fast.
