Yep! JIT (just in time) inventory of parts. Adopted by the Japanese in the 80's and copied by the Americans in the 1990s. Parts arrive for assembly just before needed.Lets the supplier quickly fix bad parts when discovered to keep defective parts out of the installed base. Key to good quality. BUT if millions of bad parts DO get there and need to be replaced, it takes a good while to build up all that inventory needed.
