Jaguar has a little bit of a problem. It's most popular selling vehicle is the F-Type.

Yeah. The two-seater coupe/roadster market is also one of the smallest.

So, this neatly brings us to our subject, the all-new XE. Set to tackle the entry-level luxury sedan class and go up against the likes of the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, Cadillac ATS, Lexus IS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the car certainly has some stiff competition.

Though I have yet to see any driving reviews of the vehicle, it appears that the U.K. publication What Car? has had the chance to preview it in its full glory. This provides us with some of the very first impressions of the all-new Jag that may be the car to save the company.

That said, after scoping out the clip below, let us know if Jaguar's all-new XE has the JUICE to give the company a much-needed sales BOOST!

The Jaguar XE is one of 2014's most talked about cars - What Car? takes a closer look at the saloon that is due on sale in May 2015.

Although I would have hoped for more style from Jaguar I think it should do well if it proves reliable and is priced right.

Uninspired styling and drab interior. Opportunity missed. Jaguar aimed too low. Will likely sell to "want to be" buyers but in no way adds to once classy aspirational icon image of the past. Jaguar is chasing mass volume rather than create something of exceptional style and value with higher margins. Understandable in today's competitive market but weakens brand appeal over time. I was hoping for more from a brand with great panache and heritage.

Badge whores will flock to it...but, people who buy cars at this price point need dependable cars first and foremost...and that would not be a Jag-U-War...

Actually all this bashing on reliability is a bit of left over history and perception. Most cars these days are quite reliable.. far more than just a generation ago. I think the new owners have put a lot of money and engineering into these new products from JLR and it is starting to pay off, One last thing that perception goes multiple ways... Used to amuse me the whole Lexus thing. When you have people who think of cars as a sofa in wheels, well then I doubt they find many problems with their vehicles. IMF on the other hand you have car junkies buying M3s etc... any little noise or vibration must be checked. So which is the better car? The sofa on wheels one that had 1 defect in the first 10k miles or the car junkies vehicle that had three defects in the first 10k miles that the sofa owner would never notice?

@valhallakey NO...it's not. We flushed our part ownership in a Jaguar dealer because of angry customers who did not like being in the service bay on a monthly basis on a brand new car nor did they like the exorbitant costs of post warranty service.

The XF has a nasty habit of having electrical malfunctions that cause the car to die and then be in the shop troubleshooting.

Jaguar is not even close to the quality/reliability of Mercedes and BMW and those brands have reliability issues.
