Toyota Squeaks Out A 6.3% Gain In November - Lexus Pushes Out An 11.6% Increase For Month
Toyota, Scion and Lexus today reported total November 2014 sales results of 183,346 units, an increase of three percent over November 2013 on an unadjusted volume basis.  When adjusted for  25 selling days in November 2014 versus 26 selling days in November 2013, sales increased 7.1 percent over year-ago month.

Toyota division posted November 2014 sales of 155,874 units, up 2.3 percent.

“Auto industry sales during Thanksgiving weekend were even better than expected,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “Consumer demand for light trucks continues unabated and Toyota dealers set new November sales records for light trucks and SUVs.”

Lexus reported November sales of 27,472 units, a 7.3 percent increase on a raw volume basis year-over-year.

“Lexus set an all-time November sales record thanks in part to the momentum surrounding the arrival of the newest edition to the lineup, the RC coupes,” said Steve Hearne, vice president for sales and dealer development.  “As a result, Lexus outpaced the luxury market with strong growth for both passenger cars and utility vehicles.”

Hmmm only 22 units of the NX sold, although its a fresh launch I expected to see a couple hundred units sold at the least. Sales otherwise were solid except for the LS which saw the biggest drop in the lineup as the S Class continues its death grip on the market.

Good jump for the IS. Just imagine how much better it might be doing if its engines were a bit more competitive. Decent sales for the RC, too.

Unfortunately for Lexus, the year-end spot will belong to either Mercedes or BMW. Mercedes sold 34k units and BMW sold 31k units in November. The new C and CLA are killing it and the 3/4, as always, are crushing. Lexus can only hope the NX is as popular here as it is in Europe and it doesn't take away from the RX.

And the CLA nearly hit 4,000 units for the month Versus Lexus CT with the S Class seeing nearly 3k. The IS could have seen a bigger jump if it wasn't for The New C Class which is on fire with over 9,000 units sold and will be seeing 10k plus in no time.
E class took a dip expectedly as its siblings show off their new interiors/tech, yet the E Class still led it's segment while the GS plays leap frog with the A6

Well, the E-Class sales are now "normalized" compared to last year when the facelifted version was introduced.

"SQUEAKS out6.3% gain" - on a YTD volume of 2.0mm+ cars and trucks??? GM and Ford wish they could "squeak" out something like that.
