Tesla Outruns Porsche For Second Year In Row With Most Satisfied Customers

Tesla’s Model S luxury electric sedan topped the U.S. survey a second year in a row, scoring 98 out of a possible 100. The No. 2 brand, Porsche, scored an average of 87 out of 100 across its model lines. Tesla, co-founded and led by billionaire Elon Musk, said last month that it expects to sell 50,000 Model S units next year.

Part of the statistical effect of Tesla's numbers has to do with new adopters who see themselves as being above the proletariat and will see magnificence at all cost. Emperor's New Clothes syndrome.

I have driven one, but the idea of spending Mercedes S Class money for a car that turns into a paper weight is too moronic for words. I also don't trust a car company who has no experience in building cars. Bolting batteries into a Lotus is not experience.

This isn't a site for politics, it's a site for auto enthusiasts and I'm sure most enthusiasts would agree that the Model S is a wonderful automobile. Not to mention 98% of its owners. Wow.

I don't doubt the Model S is a wonderful car. At the same time, it's easy to have customers say they'll return when there really aren't any other apples-to-apples competition on the market.
