Can YOU Name This Year's BIGGEST TURKEYS? WHICH All-New Cars Disappointed YOU The MOST?

Can YOU Name This Year's BIGGEST TURKEYS? WHICH All-New Cars Disappointed YOU The MOST?
I probably should have ran this story last week given all the hullabaloo over Thanksgiving. I have to admit, Thanksgiving is easily my favorite holiday. Plenty of love and plenty of food. Doesn't get much better than that, my friends.

Anyhow, as you all are well aware, this is the time of the year when the automotive community gets together and starts figuring out the Car of the Year. That's a great endeavor and all, but we like to focus not only on the good, but also the bad.

What good are we doing you if you wind up stuck with a pile of crap? Not much, that's what.

That's why I also make sure to cultivate my Top 007 list for the year's BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENTS. That way no one can say we didn't tell you so.

But before I write up my top let downs, I wanted to turn the mic over to YOU, the Spies. It's always interesting to crowd source thoughts as I didn't get the opportunity to drive all of this year's latest and greatest.

So, let us know: WHICH vehicles do YOU think are this year's BIGGEST TURKEYS?

There have been some big turkeys this year.

The Malibu refresh is just a world of what not to do.

The Chrysler 300 refresh is indistinguishable from the current one.

The new Miata is still a dull, underpowered car for nail girls and hair dressers.

The new Golf will do nothing to ignite sales for VW in NA.

The biggest "turkey"? Any AutoSpies article inciting hate or other negativity.

I'm cool with car LOVERS, but haters of any sort... not cool.

Agent00R, The Steve took his "I'm holier than thou pills" today; that explains his response. :)

This site isn't "auto journalism" but rather a glorified blog with anonymous "agents" and from what I can see from having been here a few years is that it'a the wild wild west. I say let it fly.

People who want 100% positivity at all times psychologically speaking are the types that tend to live in co-dependence and denial.

Well, you know, you could have told us instead about the cars that have impressed you the most this year, but you too decided to be negative about 00R's turkey.

To me the Cadillac ELR was a big disappointment as GM had a chance to put the next Voltec drive train in it differentiating it from the current Volt and they blew it.

The Tesla Model X being delayed is also a disappointment, offset a bit with the intro of the dual motor drive on the Model S and the "Insane" performance it brought.

The BMW i3 and the i8 though disappointing as well in terms of all-electric range really set a new benchmark for plugin electrics. The investment in carbon fiber will pay off. I'd give them the crown, and let's see if they can keep it.

@vdiv

Interesting to hear your thoughts, especially on the ELR.

Very true on the Model X and BMW's project i cars!

I agree with The Steve...auto 'journalism' has definitely ended up in the toilet. Some of it has to do with the Internet, because anyone can set up an Internet site. It's unfortunate, really.

@leej

I think people have to understand what this site's purpose really is.

I have never claimed to be a journalist. My job is to provide commentary as I see fit, entertain and show you all a collection of the latest and greatest automotive news from ALL OVER the 'net. Here we make a point to be completely honest and as we've all owned luxury rides we have something most of the other guys and girls covering the space don't — experience.

There are spy shots, speculation and rumors we hear over the course of our journeys and we bring them to the surface.

A journalist provides a 360-degree factual story that lets all parties speak, and investigates the latest hot-button issues in a respective industry. The guys and girls looking into recalls are proper journalists and, to be honest, they're not going a terribly great job today.

Make no mistake though, this isn't limited to the automotive space. Journalists are not well compensated and anyone can start a blog and spew their thoughts. In this day and age society largely does not care about "just the facts." It's a shame, but that's reality, IMHO.

End rant.

MB GLA = SUV?!?
Back in my day they called this a hatchback. They would have also called Kim Kardashian a girl with a bad body.
