CAR WARS! Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 vs. Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat vs. Ford Mustang GT
Right out of the gate, let me just state the obvious: this grouping of American muscle cars makes absolutely NO sense.

The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is a track-oriented product. If we're going to put together some badass 'Merican muscle, they should have waited to get the Camaro ZL1.

The Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat is an outright monster. It goes after the ZL1 and soon-to-launch Shelby Mustang GT350.

The Ford Mustang GT is the latest and greatest top-of-the-line Mustang, for now. Given the GT350 was just shown, it seems silly to compare it against the likes of the Hellcat.

So, it's uneven all around. BUT, which vehicle is the best if you were to go out to a dealer and buy today?

Since you're talking about three different vehicles with three completely different characteristics, we're essentially looking at an apple, an orange and a pear.

I'll let the three guys break it down in the clip below.

The Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, and the Ford Mustang GT prove the Big Three aren’t just back, they’re taking names and slapping in-your-face high-fives each time they humiliate a sniffy rival. On tap are mind-bending horsepower, Le Mans moves, cutting-edge electronic gizmos, and designs that, at a glance, can squeeze an adrenal gland dry in seconds. This is American Hustle, circa 2015, and it’s so damn fabulous we’re black and blue from pinching ourselves.

I'll get a Challenger Hellcat and drive it rarely and keep it for 40 years because it will be worth something. The Camaro does not interest me. The new Camaro has always left me cold. The Mustang will be the best to drive on a daily basis. I'm just sad that they are doing a GT350 and not a GT500. I'd rather have supercharged 5.0.

GT vs. Z28 and Hellcat, ya that sure sounds fair.

As a daily driver, Mustang GT.

But the real best one here is Z28.

The Z/28 is best performer, duh.

But, I'd rather drive the Hellcat.

It pains me to agree with this man, but here I must.
The Hellcat is just a burnout machine, nothing more. The Z28 is by far and away the best performance car.

Looking forward to the Mustang GT350. I have always preferred naturally aspirated engines even though I drive a turbo. The GT is the most livable but a bit too quiet. The Hellcat will be a collectors item. The Z28 and the Camaro with the ILE package are great if you do a lot of track work but not so great to live with. I'm hoping the next generation will be easier to see out of. Overall I'd take the Mustang GT and put an aftermarket exhaust on it.

If you've driven a Boss 302 Laguna Seca, you've driven the basic idea. I love my Laguna Seca, but I also love the burly GT500 that is as unruly as hell.

I may have to find a pre-2010...

GT350 and its high revving flat plane V8. I can only imagine how much fun exhaust geeks have tuning the sound of that baby. Although I wish it was tuned for a higher pitch (not Ferrari screaming levels, but higher than what it is now) to distinguish it from all the burly low rumble American muscle regulars.
