LEAKED: Mini John Cooper Works Cooper S Revealed Before Official Debut

An Australian media outlet has got hold of official images for the latest addition to the new MINI range: the scorching John Cooper Works edition of the existing Cooper S hatch. A concept of the JCW hatch was seen at Detroit Motor Show at the start of 2014, and the production-ready version will debut at the same motor show in January.

Reportedly ready to go on sale, the dramatic styling of the concept has been toned down slightly for release. Yet it's still distinctly different from the Cooper S, with deeper side skirts and a new front bumper, as well as bespoke 17 inch alloy wheels. Inside, it's usual MINI fare, with the addition of a sports steering wheel, racier pedals and instruments and red and black Alcantara seats.

Mini is milking the 2.0 so hard. You will probably have to pay 50k to get the 32k 228i's 240 hp.

Uninspired! Mini behaving like a team afraid of losing rather than confident of winning. Styling is dreadful compared with last JCW. Who ever designed this thinking it would excite enthusiasts should be fired. Let me say it in a way the British will understand..."THIS IS A DOG'S BREAKFAST."
