DETROIT AUTO SHOW: TEASED! Toyota Set To Debut All-New Tacoma Pick-Up Truck In The Motor City
Although it's tough to call this one line statement a press release, I guess that's what it is.

Toyota has officially confirmed that the all-new 2016 Toyota Tacoma will be be appearing at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS), making its global debut. Although Toyota is keeping its all-new pick-up truck's details under wraps for now, it did send out a teaser image.

If you're looking to see a lot, don't hold your breath. Essentially you get the pleasure of seeing a whole lot of mud and a sliver of the Tacoma's ass-end, which has "Tacoma" proudly stamped on the tailgate.

Toyota isn't exactly known for selling high volumes of its pick-ups when compared to the likes of the domestics.

[Raises glass] Here's to hoping the company can do something innovative to raise its market share.

Toyota's press release follows:

Tacoma. Detroit. January 12. It's on.

December 10, 2014

Toyota's rolling out the all-new 2016 Tacoma at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit on Jan. 12.

The Tacoma, HiLux, and what ever else it is called would appear to be a dominant player in the world wide pickup market. Every guerrilla army seems to depend on them instead of F-150s. Nice that they want more USA market share, but the USA isn't the only game in town.

But the Taco is the dominant/only player in the midsize pickup category so it's gotta to be one of Toyota's best segments even without trying too hard.
