I found this article quite surprising given the long history of the American pick-up. Mercedes-Benz pick-up would not have been my guess to who invented the pick-up.

No offense meant, but American pickups are oversized but underperforming vehicles. Europeans are able to do a lot more with a lot less with their commercial vehicles.
