#NAIAS Burlappcar.com Calls New Audi Q7 LAZIEST Re-Design EVER. Are They Right Or Off Base? #NAIASDetroit
Photos of the 2016 Audi Q7 leaked earlier today ahead of the 2015 Detroit Auto show reveal and the new design has generated some strong reaction.

Today, Burrlappcar called the new look the LAZIEST re-design EVER saying things like:

" This what we get after 9 years. A big A3 hatchback."

Audi has been doing this for years. Using the same design for everything. Still, their current and upcoming models are just squared off versions of what we've seen for years. It's never new. And it's getting sad...And from what I saw with their Concept at the L.A show, the future looks like more of the same."

Those are some harsh words to say the least.

So we thought we'd throw out the question tonight and ask if you think they are right or are they just being haters?

Be sure to look at the updated new photos we've added to the 2016 Audi Q7 photo gallery

Yes, this is quite possibly the worst design I have ever seen in my life. This is "supposed" to be the biggest SUV in their lineup and yet, they designed it like it is some sort of Volkswagen.

Anyone who actually knows luxury would know that Lexus LX and Cadillac Escalade are the most beautiful full size luxury SUVs.

As BMW and Audi keep becoming more and more like appliance makers, now finally we might be able to see Lexus, Acura, Infiniti, Cadillac and Lincoln becoming the world's best luxury brands.

But probably not, because the majority of the world is still the worshippers of Europe.

I was with you but then you lost me buddy.

Anyway, I have never heard of "Burlappcar" in my life so a background would be appreciated next time, its not like this random is Jeremy Clarkson.

And dear god I just remembered Audi delayed the launch of the Q7, for this?!?!! Who knows how they are screwing up the next A4?!?!

There goes Germannut's hopes for Audi's world domination...

Looks like a CrossBlue with an Audi hole up front

They essentially made a taller version of the outgoing audis... interior is derived from the TT and A6.
Move along now, nothing to see here...

Germannut was wrong after all of his posts and reposts stating that Audi was spending billions on "revolutionary design language"

When I saw it, I thought it was a new Audi A3, no joke. Did not even think this was a Q7.

But Germannut apparently likes it, so I am thinking he likes cheap, trashy designs that don't belong in a luxury car.

I don't know who Vince Burrlapp is but I'd have to agree. This just might be the most uninspired redesign of any car in recent memory. This takes us back to when SUVs were just literal boxes on wheels. I'm sure the technology and driving experience will be great, but who wants all that when it's wrapped in a design totally devoid of any emotion. Oh, wait, it has fancy Audi headlights....

I'm a big fan of Audi design but I must admit this is truly disappointing:(

While the previous version was bulbous and flatulent, this new one looks like a Big Subaru. I think it sucks.

I don't think it's just Audi either, look at BMW's 3, 5 and 7 in particular. Their X and coupe-sedan aside, their original 3 models are not very innovative. I'm not trying to defect Audi's tired designs but it's not isolated to Audi. Of course, it's not like Lexus' attempt at innovative design with their spindle grill or Acura's beak have been successful either. Cadillac and Ford have been more successful in my mind.

Many people are forgetting that this car is way lighter (by 716 pounds), way more fuel efficient (by 26%) and loaded with way more technology and safety systems than the current version.

This new Q7 will drive a lot better than the current bloated version due to the huge weight savings and new MLB platform. The interior is once again top notch.

Overall, Audi has done a terrific job when looking at the new Q7 as a whole.

People will overlook the styling and this will sell very well considering the current version is still notching sales gains.

You act like this weight loss is something to be proud of. They NEEDED to lose the weight. The Q7 was 600lbs heavier than an X5 and 1100lbs heavier than an MDX, its closest rivals. Not to mention 100lbs heavier than the larger GL and only 300lbs lighter than the MUCH larger Escalade.

You're forgetting the current Q7 already sold well despite it's bloated stance and enormous weight. The current Q7 is already notching sales gains year to date. The new model with that huge weight reduction, improved handling, significantly improved efficiency and loaded technology will be a huge seller in the US and globally.

Audi knows what it's doing and all thr people saying the new Q7 sucks will keeps their mouths shut once the sales skyrocket.

Yes, of course it will sell well. With such a low profile, it will handle very well. Much better than the current model which looks like an inverted Viking raft.

The point is, it's a station wagon, an A6 Avant, and they need to call it that. It's not a Q-anything.
