CAR WARS! WHO Did It Better? WHICH Is A Better FIT For The 911 Targa's DESIGN? The 991 OR 930?
This past week I've had the pleasure of driving the all-new Porsche 911 (991) Targa. To be more specific, Targa 4S. While it was supposed to come with a set of snow tires, it didn't. No big deal, just meant the tires required some nice warming up before stretching the 911's legs.

During one of her warm up laps, I noticed that in the town I grew up in there was a small independent shop that's under new management. Happens all the time. The reason it's special is because I've noticed some interesting and less-than-interesting vehicles parked in its lot. One example of a cool one is a 1960s, Emerald Green Ford Mustang fastback.

This week though there was something I hadn't seen before though. It was a 911 930 Targa. Call me sentimental but this seemed like a good photo opportunity to me.

It's not like New Jersey has a slew of vintage 911 Targas running about freely.

All of this got me thinking when I looked at the pictures back at home: WHO did It BETTER? The 991 or the 930?

What say you, Spies?

its like the car grew 2x in size !!! why the hell cant they keep the sizes the same and just make other bigger models ??
that being said, of course the 991 is nicer !

Well, I wouldn't go as far as 2x the size but it's obviously grown.

Probably because consumers have been demanding more space since probably ever. Not to mention the longer wheelbase enhances performance while making the 911 a more comfortable car.

I'd wager that the the increase length and width have made the 991 the best balanced 911 of the lot as well. The engine may be in the wrong place but boy this thing sticks to the tarmac when you want it to.

Both are cool...but who picked that color on the 991? It ruins the car.

Porsche Cars North America, I suppose.

I have to say, it wasn't something I'd ever pick but 6/10ths of the people I spoke to LOVED the color on the car.

So, it's polarizing.

I had a 1988 Targa and loved it. Today, I just cannot see spending over $100K plus taxes for a car plus the painful depreciation.
