DETROIT AUTO SHOW: CONFIRMED! Cadillac's All-New CTS-V Coming To The MOTOR City — What Are YOU Expecting?
Last year we had a very busy Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS). There were so many debuts I remember just being swamped for days after the event. It was MASSIVE.

And if you were to ask anyone about the BIG debut of the event, I think many would have said that the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was pretty much the one to beat.

I mean, the company trotted out the 650 horsepower stallion out to an adoring audience. How can it get much better than that?

It seems that General Motors may be setting up round two. Coincidentally, it may also be related to last year's Z06. That's because the all-new Cadillac CTS-V is expected to appear for the first time. Although there hasn't been any official word as to what Cadillac will equip the next-gen V with, all eyes are on the Z06 motor as it's the only powerplant that makes sense and will give the V the significant boost it needs to run with the likes of the Audi RS7, BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and Porsche Panamera Turbo S.

Sure these vehicles all cost quite a bit more, but they also have similar power and performance figures.

So, what will the Americans do to outgun the competition this round? It seems that there's only one answer here. Are YOU expecting something else?

Detroit or bust, 2015!

Your loss, why pre-judge? Surely it deserves a look.

It looks waaaay unattractive to me. Not just a little not nice. Waaaaay icky. Knowing that I'm very uninterested in that look, and would never consider owning a vehicle I disliked, do you feel I really need to go see it at the show, that it "deserves" me spending more time looking at it? Do you reason I'll dislike it less? Do you figure I'll be so wowed by the specs that I'll get over the visual turn-off?

Nah. It's just not for me. I'm okay with that. I'm just one guy who doesn't care for this car. Mind you, there are several people on this thread who are not okay with others not liking it.

Oh, this car will be amazing. It will come out and say "We just beat out BMW M5 again!!" and yet, once again, the new BMW M5 is on its way, and the new M5 will once again beat out this American junk that is always late to the game.

Just like how the last gen CTS-V was completely forgotten by everyone, including the Americans (Since the majority of Americans much prefer Europe in general), not to mention the sales number of CTS-V was never good even in the good ol' U.S. of A. (When M5 sells tons).

So, do I expect a lot? Not really. Caddy should just stick to making SUVs like an Escalade.

Clearly you've never driven a CTSV.

It will be another disguised Chevy loaded down with chrome and Caddy stickers.

CTS V How about a real luxury car thats where Caddy Started and should stay. Chasing Euro cars is just playing catch up.
I love my Escalade and always love the DeVilles. Go back t the basics and build luxury screw Europe

I think they have to build beautiful (ala El Miraj) good handling, powerful luxurious cars to compete... Nobody wants a boat with pillows on the road anymore. But also agree they should do the American thing and not try to be exactly like the BMW, Mercedes or Audi. Do the cool looking low slung, wide, high speed luxury GT and do it very well. Build has to be impeccable, looks have to capture Americana, stick with names don't fall for the letter number thing...

It will need AWD to tempt me for my new daily driver.

I don't like the ATS-V as much as the last CTS-V design wise so I am not sure what the CTS-V will bring but should bring 600 hp.

i respect cadillac for what their V variants bring in performance, but id still rather have an M, AMG, RS, and F over it.
gotta agree if it came with awd id be more tempted to get a V.
