CAR WARS! WHICH Super Sport Sedan Is The BEST Purely From A DESIGN Perspective?
When it comes to sport sedans, looks aren't exactly the primary concern. Most people opt for these rides so they can have a smile on their face while going lugging the kiddies and/or clients around. Utility plays a BIG part of why buyers pick up these wheels in the first place.

But as we've seen over the years, looks matter when it comes to picking up a vehicle. Hell, vehicles are one of today's primary status symbols so it better look sharp.

2016 Cadillac CTS-V

That said we wanted to put together THREE of today's premiere sport sedans to go up against the all-new 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Why, you ask?

Well, it's always interesting to see how an all-new ride stacks up to the existing generation of production vehicles. In addition, this morning's post seemed to get positive and negative feedback from folks who thought the all-new V's design looked great, or was a bit over the top.

All that considered, take a look at our cover image and let us know WHICH super sport sedan is the BEST purely from a DESIGN standpoint.

Cadillac CTS-V is the most aggressive looking boy racer car I have ever seen in my life. Many of people who like Nissan GT-R or tuned Honda Civic would love this car. It actually looks like a tuner car.

And M5, E63 and...is that an S7? What is an S7 doing here, but anyway, those cars will sell to the same ol' people who worship Europe, and never even bother to look at the CTS-V, just like how the last gen was totally ignored by them as well.

Do you guys know the American Friends of Versailles? It is an organization of the Americans trying to preserve the culture and greatness of Versailles of France. You see many Americans trying hard to preserve the European supremacy, when Detroit was absolutely abandoned by the Americans themselves (And so are many of other major U.S. cities) and now the Chinese are apparently trying to revive Detroit. Ironic, isn't it?

And it's the same thing here. If you can afford an expensive BMW, Mercedes-Benz or Audi, why even look at that boy racer car from Detroit?

And the tmc moron from Colorado thinks I am anti-America, when pretty much most Americans don't give a rats ass about America itself, what an idiot lol!

I never said you were anti American. I've only said you hate the American brands. You bash each and every article having to do with the big 3. We get it. You have made yourself clear. Your rants are beyond stupid. Including this one. US automakers have a long way to go and this is no mystery. Your euro arguments are just odd though. You are like an old 8itch woman that can't make up her mind. Contradicting yourself to fit your argument of the day. It's an old and tired routine. Keep making up stuff as you please though. Eventually, you will grow enough hair on your peaches and be man enough to accept a differing opinion. You might also be able to do it without hurling insults as a defense mechanism. It's okay to disagree. If everyone liked the same thing, we'd all be driving the same thing and there would be no need for this site. Also... I'm not from Colorado. I live here currently but my work requires the occasional relocation. I've made plenty of assumptions about you too so I will let that slide. Merry Christmas!

Oh, I am making stuff up? Look up the American friends of Versailles and see if it exists or not.

And see if my points regarding Europe are lies or not.

But then again, you are afraid to find out, so you'd rather keep telling yourself that I am making stuff up. Typical.

Merry Christmas.

By the way, what do you think about the show "The Queen of Versailles", which is about the rich Americans in Florida trying to build the most expensive French style palace in America?

Like how there are many of billionaires' houses in the U.S. that heavily resemble that of the European palaces. Don't you think it's funny how the ultimate American dream is in the end, to pursue the European dream? ;)?

By the way, my favorite is the ranch style houses, as I like keeping things American. What about you?

Merry Christmas again, btw.

No you nitwit... making stuff in terms of putting words in my mouth. I have no doubt in your knowledge of strange groups of people. There is a group for everything these days. Heck, there are people that still support the confederacy. As for European influence in architecture, might want to take a look at how this nation was founded. If you really want to stay true, you should be living in a teepee. You really should seek help dude. You have delusions of grandeur that go far beyond your odd behavior on this forum.

JDMUSMusle- Has a point and i believe he is right as here in Australia the locally built Holden Commodore (Badged SS in USA) and the Ford Falcon sales have died over the years. Come 2016 they will be no more as imports offered better quality finish and certainly more brand appeal. But as for value for money the Holden and Ford were better. It was not until the brand was dead they offered better quality,... go figure and whats even more funny most people thought that Holden was Australian when it always has been GM a USA company. At the end of the day the product was poor and they failed to compete with quality.

Well, dumbpeople, trm dude has some issues with coping with reality unfortunately. Merry Christmas, btw.

And trm, I'm sorry, child, the U.S. has its own home style, and one of them is ranch style. If you mean to say a palace that looks a lot like a European palance is the "American" style, you yourself have just conformed to the European supremacy without even realizing. You are basically actually telling me that America has "NO" culture LOL!!! Did you even see the show "The Queen of Versailles"? It's about two Americans calling themselves the king and the queen. Just like how Scott Disick, an American celebrity wanted to be the "Lord" of the British monarchy. I wonder myself, why many of rich Americans either leave the U.S. to avoid taxes, or act like European royal family members? I wonder why the ultimate form of the American Dream is to become like a European elite? ;) (wink wink)

Oh, just like how many of those American celebrities love Mercedes G Wagon and Range Rover (And yet, they were not interested in Hummer, which eventually died out due to low demand). I mean, you love Range Rover, too! LOL!!

But it's ok, friend. There still are many Americans who love pick up trucks. But when you want to show people that you have money, you don't drive a pickup truck, you drive a Range Rover or a G wagon. Or an S class, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and such super elitist European automobiles.

I mean, what's that icon you got there anyway, kid? LOL!

I mean, you usually never lose your cool, but seems like you lost it this time. I wonder why? Truth just hurts so badly, doesn't it, friend? lol!!!

Oh! by the way, I am someone who usually prefers ranch style homes and the full size SUVs of Cadillac and Lincoln. If you want to argue with me about how Anti-American I am, then you are arguing with the wrong person with wrong topic. I merely wanted to educate you on the social perception in the U.S., so don't be offended.

Merry Christmas, trmckin ;) (wink wink)

And yes, there are all kinds of groups, yes? And there are many Americans who would try to preserve the French legacy, when practically no American is interested in reviving Detroit which went bankrupt? lol!!

The Caddy is way unattractive, to my eyes. Based on the 4 pic rectangle above, I'd choose the Audi for looks with the BMW as a second.

The Caddie has the best front end by a comfortable mile, but the rest of the car is a bit of a dud.

Based on overall styling, I'd choose the RS7 followed very closely by the CLS63 (since the RS7 was included in this) and E63.

Did anyone notice the ugly BLACK spoiler on the car. It looks like a total after thought or after market part. At least paint the dang thing to match the color of the car. The paint spray booth must have quit working then??

They are all amazing machines in the end and owning any if them isn't a bad way to be driving. I would probably go RS7, CLS, M5 (M6 would be higher) and CTS-V as last because I haven't seen it yet. I was pretty put off by the ATS-V at first but it's not as brash and tacky at least when seen at an autoshow so the CTS-V most likely won't be that crazy looking. Still not a huge fan of the spoiler and the extra bits.

You would think that as a gay man I would be the biggest b*tch around here but the JD guy and his comments take that crown. I havent been on this site this whole year because of his noise and he doesnt even bother me anymore. Its the people that dont ignore his biased ass. Tell him BYE FELICIA and keep it moving. His car enthusiast card was pulled when he misused the boy racer term. That term is for coffee can mufflers and pointless graphics and body work.

#sidenote: You f*cking blind idiot. If you read (and this goes to others as well) you will notice the carbon fiber splitter and spoiler is an option on the CTS V and IT IS FUNCTIONAL AND AIDS IN DOWFORCE.

Since the Agents wont get you together I surely will. It would be in your best life interest not to come for me either.

As I noted previously, it's probably akin to the Z06's Z07 package.

Oh, I forgot to answer the question of the title. I would choose Cadillac CTS-V.

See? I forgot why I was even here.

Give me the Audi or the Cadillac. While the Benz is indeed nice its to soft design-wise to be the high performance variant. The BMW isnt even on my radar. It doesnt even look that much more special than its lesser models.

This comment is based on looks alone.

I would pick the Mercedes here. The 'all-new' Caddy, and the BMW, look 'old'...and the Audi, while attractive, is not as attractive as the Mercedes.

On LOOKS alone:

1. Audi RS7
2. Cadillac CTS-V
3. BMW M5
4. Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S

Unfortunately - the Arts and Science look of the Cadillac has run its course - and while the New CTS V has a boy racer look to it - that look is misplaced in the luxury segment - and belongs on a Camaro.

Same situation with the Audi - the Cow Catcher grill was never a strong point to me. The Bmw is just looking the same - as any other 3 series - if you have to look that closely for the difference - there may as well not be a difference. Boring! At least the Mercedes looks newer than the Bwm - but that is not saying much.

So - from a design standpoint - I think both Jaguar and Maserati look better than any of the above.

Note - from an engineering standpoint - that is not the case.

For this type of car I believe that most people purchasing one of these will look for the brut in a suit look. Although I really like the CTS-V from a lot of perspectives I think it has three styling issues, two unique to the -V and one part of the design of the CTS. Rear spoiler as mentioned above looks after market and is too big, hood is too much as well, then somehow the rear wheel arch seems really undersized due to the way the car is styled in that area. It makes the rear wheel seem strangely small. I would pick the BWM M5 (my e39 M5 was better though), the Merc and Audi tie for 2nd (face is over done on both)here), then the CTS. When I buy though the CTS-V is very tempting. I like 95% of the look and maybe/hopefully some colors help hide the styling issues (like dark colors did on the Dame Edna version of the BMW M5) or maybe dial it back a bit and get the CTS Vsport...

CTSV hands down. It will be as honest as a cheese burger, as burly lurid as a Camaro ZL1, a total hoot to enjoy, and yet it will be a normal, comfortable car when cruising the 405 through Los Angeles at 25mph.

The Eurosnobs will hate it because the Cadillac's premium level of simplicity and honesty in engineering is something that Audi, BMW, and Mercedes have LONG forgotten.

I cannot wait for the roll out to dealers.
