Audi Design Boss Marc Lichte Says He Gave The Upcoming A7 Radical Design Changes - Design Is Already Approved For 2017 Launch
A more radical design is promised for the next-generation Audi A7, according to man who has designed it.

Marc Lichte, who joined Audi from Volkswagen earlier this year, has already completed design work on the second-generation A7, which will be launched in 2017.

Elements of the design of the new A7 have already been previewed in the recent Prologue concept at the Los Angeles motor show, although Lichte wouldn’t give specifics.

After the new Q7 disaster, I actually hope he doesn't change the car too much.
Maybe he'll turn that into a station wagon too.

Considering the Prologue wasn't particularly "radical", the promise here already seems unfulfilled. And Lichte had any say in the new Q7, then there's no question that his are empty words.

Lichte did not have any say in the new Q7 design as the new Q7's design was already approved before Lichte was promoted to design chief.

The Prologue is aggressive and modern at the same time. A huge departure from Audi's current design theme so the influence on the A7 should make for one awesome car!

The Prologue has a Mustang face and the ugliest rear end I think I've ever seen on a high-end car. And it just looks like a bloated A5 from 2010.

Regardless of who designed it, the Q7 was supposed to be a bold departure into gorgeous and what Audi produced was a bold departure into merde. Audi is rapidly becoming the German Lincoln.

Audi speak: Radical = same old boring with a different grill.

Since Mr. Darringer sells Lincolns, we should all consider him the expert on 'merde'.
