Ford Already Focusing On Marketing Efforts For Generation Z
Ford has released its traditional trends report, covering in its latest edition 2015 and found, after focusing its research on the so-called generation Z that tomorrow’s car-owners are nontraditional, rebellious and generally socially conscious.

The Dearborn automaker, the second largest carmaker in the US focused on the people generally born after 1993, forming the new generation Z, and reported on their woes after tallying their answers to questions that span across a wide range of habits – from climate change and job searches to eating and marriage. Ford has opted to make the market research for the past three years in an attempt to better develop products and services for the upcoming generations of customers. “Driving our report for 2015 is this emerging generation Z consumer, who is already inspiring attitudes and behaviors in consumers of all ages,” said Sheryl Connelly, Ford’s global consumer trend and futuring manager.

My fear is that Gen Z will skew toward automotive appliances.

People here tend to use this 'appliance' reference as some sort of intended insult. The definition of an appliance is a machine created to perform a specific task, would make all automobiles appliances. It's true that some have more features and functions than others, but in the end, they are each created to perform a specific function...some are economical...some are performance specific, some are work vehicles (vans/trucks), etc. So, if a vehicle is not an appliance, then it is failing to live up to its intended purpose to perform a specific task.

It started out as an insult, coined by Europe worshippers.

I didn't use it as an intended insult.

I used it as a "middle finger on each hand up" insult.

A Camry is a great appliance and it does its work unobtrusively as all good appliances do, but appliances do not stir the soul. You're attempt at academic clash is so noted but given a C-.

Give me a Gen Z and 5 minutes in a Sagaris at Willow and that Gen Z will want a Sagaris and not some vapid TeslaPriusVoltLeaf that saves the earth's blood.

Seems like just a few years ago, the experts were saying the same thing about my generation... Funny what happens when you hit 30s and 40s and actually have money.
