DRIVEN + VIDEO: Consumer Reports Dishes It Out On The All-New Mercedes-Benz C300
Since we first set eyes on the all-new Mercedes-Benz C-Class we've been mighty impressed. While its exterior is more curvaceous and evoking the big daddy S-Class, we were far more interested in its interior that is class leading.

Turns out we're not the only ones.

Recently Consumer Reports filed this quick video giving its first impressions of the all-new Mercedes. Having just spent a week behind the wheel of the all-new C400 I have to say its findings are pretty spot on.

The interior is quite stunning but the redundant controls are noticeable. Where this three-pointed star will surprise you is how nimble it feels on the switchbacks and how well done its steering is. It's numb — what did you expect in a Mercedes — but very direct and responsive.

If you're in-market for a $40-55,000 sedan, this is one you cannot miss.

Listen to what Consumer Reports has to say about the C300 in the clip below!

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has a sleeker look and beautiful interior. It comes with some nice standard options but you'll pay extra for a backup camera and voice commands for your phone.

I didn't watch the video, but the C300 is certainly a car I'd consider. I test drove it a few months ago and was incredibly impressed. It was silky smooth, responsive, quiet, and the interior truly felt like it belongs in a class or two above. Waiting for the RWD model.

Agree, the test drive I took about a month ago was similar. However the C300 felt a little buzzy. The turbo 4 didn't seem as athletic as a $40-55K Luxury Automobile should. Honestly for this kind of coin the engines seem to be the weakest link. The ATS has much more power in their Turbo 4, 270bhp and the V6 is rated at 321bhp without a turbo. C Class mills are 241-hp turbo-4 in the C300 and the 329-hp V-6 with 2 turbos. That's a lot of work for these engines, not matter how well engineered or built, they are. Long term these engines will need maintenance and it won't be cheap to repair.

Xjug, I'm surprised you felt any buzzing. I don't recall that at all. That's something I felt from both the IS350 and Q50, both with 6's. And yes, the ATS has more power, but it doesn't use the power as well.

Not sure what you mean by "doesn't use the power well?" Its a normally aspirated 321bhp V6. I'm assuming your a test driver and a magazine reader. I have had an ATS 3.6 for 2 years now and can assure you it uses its power VERY well. Its one of the most fun cars I've ever had and there are zero issues with power, equipment and looks. The delivery is seamless vs these buzzy turbos. I've had multiple Mercedes cars & suv's so I'm a true believer in MB, but this C300 is buzzy. The power deliver is not crisp like their 3.5 V6. Also the last gen C250 with its turbo 4 is simply not a world class mill. I'm astounded MB put it out in so many cars. It also tells me folks want the STAR regardless of the content.

I test drove the C300 last week and it was really impressive and a car I've added to my shopping list. Great styling, traditional Benz quality/build quality throughout and probably one of the better engines in its class in terms of refinement and responsiveness.

Not a fan of the new Benz saggy butt design. This new C looks like an Acura from that view.
