Has Infiniti Given Up Building Actual Driver's Cars For Those That Want Automated Nannies?
Latest reports suggest the highly anticipated Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge super-sedan is now shelved. The source of the latest news derived from a message by former Infiniti chief Johan de Nysschen, who is currently the new head of Cadillac.

"I heard a rumor that Noboru Tateishi is going to cop-out and shelve the Eau Rouge project now that I'm not there to pressure him," stated de Nysschen in a message on Facebook. "Tell any Cadillac or Audi engineer 'build me a 560hp sports sedan' and you have to reign them in.

At Infiniti, it seems easier to push water uphill. More enthusiasm for "driver's aids," apparently, than "driver's cars," in some quarters, it would seem."

I wish they had as much enthusiasm about designing beautiful exteriors as they do with gadgetry.

That could be said about more than Infiniti.

The Infiniti Red Water was de Nysschen's grandstanding in the first place. The fact that the car is not deliverable as promised due to component compatibility issues suggests that de Nysschen threw out something he wanted as a show car without verifying that it was doable.

Infiniti would be idiots to bring a highly compromised car to market and get laughed at.

It makes more sense for them to kill the project because even if it were able to be brought to market at promised, no one with a brain will spend $100K on an Infiniti once the JDM fanboys buy a dozen or so.

The Red Water is an embarrassment to DE NYSSCHEN not to Infiniti for killing it. The Red Water just proves that de Nysschen is a bombastic braggart.

There has to be a reason why Infiniti fired him because he would not just magically leave for Cadillac if they were pleased with him.

May Cadillac catch on!

If I were Mary Barra, de Nysschen's wrinkled old ass would have been in my office for a tongue lashing and an unpaid suspension.

I agree.

Putting the next GTR out as an Infiniti Skyline GTR and then quickly following up with a Skyline sedan pulled from the GTR chassis. De Nysschen needed to rename the cars but he was too stupid to understand the clout of the "GTR" and "Skyline" names and what the combined "Infiniti Skyline" perfection could result in to then leverage Nissan to let him use both to reinvigorate Infiniti.
