Lincoln Recalls MKC Because Errant Fingers Can Shut Off Engine While Driving
Ford Motor Co. today said it is recalling all Lincoln MKCs built through September to resolve one or two issues that can cause the engine to shut off while driving.

One of the recalls, which also covers some 2014 Ford Escape models, relates to a mechanical problem that can cause the fuel pump to seize and the vehicle to either stall or fail to start up. It affects a total of 11,868 Escapes and 337 MKCs built in April and May.

It’s the 13th recall of the Escape since its redesign two years ago.

Really? Even my MINI won't let you shut off the car in gear, much less at speed.

It will make a sound and idiot light will flash but keep running.

There was some idiotic kid on this website who said cars are just box with wheels, all just to defend those American pieces of junk.

And his friend and he were celebrating the greatness of America by talking about how America invented so many great things....almost 100 years ago.

And they are the reason why America failed. And why Europe has won everything. Because Europe lives in 2015, and the majority of Americans still live off of the past glory days of World War II and 1960's, or even way before like 1920's.

And those blind "American patriots" should watch this video, which pretty much tells the truth in the disguise of a drama.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMqcLUqYqrs

Oh wait, they can't. Because they are wuss lol!

And I think this is quite an accomplishment, if Ford also managed to do things GM has done. And we all know not all recalls are honored in many cases, as GM has shown it.

But I guess for those blind, couch patriots of America (Basically the majority of Americans), cars are mere boxes with wheels. Oh, I guess that's why Ford, GM and Chrysler always "literally" make junk with wheels. They explained to me everything ;)

And I guess this is why all the manufacturing jobs left the U.S., because this country can't produce jack.

And those dumb couch patriots actually think America fails "only" in automobile industry right now lol!! Pretty sad.

yes, the button is in the wrong place, but the car should never be able to be shut off without the car in Park. That's just poor programming/engineering by Ford/Lincoln. It looks like they already made the adjustment on button position as the Lincoln website shows the 2015s have the start button at the top of the stack

Well, you should be able to shut the vehicle off while its in neutral. Toyota taught us that right JDMUSmuscle?

trm, it feels great that Toyota was bashed by the U.S. government, when Toyota used the brake parts made by the American suppliers?

I think Toyota should stop giving jobs to the Americans and also stop using the American parts. Am I right, trm? That's what you are telling me, right? lol!

You really are clueless. Is this what you do all day?
Bash Americans and question their intelligence due to cars and their recalls?
You judge nations by the type of cars they make and then call me a child. Are cars the most important thing in today's society?
When I say box on wheels, I mean it. What has really changed during the past 10-20 years?
They just keep adding control modules to vehicles. Instead of toaster on wheels it's a laptop on wheels. Instead of 1-3 modules a modern car can have 40-80 modules.
Please tell me where did that capability of modules and software come from?

We the idiots make invisible cloaks, science advancements, medical advancements, energy advancements, stealth boats, carbon fiber planes, space shuttles, F35, F22 raptors, weapons, navy railguns, robots, satellites, drones, software, etc and the big geniuses of this world assemble Tundra trucks, so that JDM can get to his 8-5 job. You really are smart JDM. Maybe you should try getting a job on the Toyota assembly line.

By the way, what happened to all the Toyota recalls? Tie rods that break on brand new cars, runaway cars, inadequate breaks, air bags that blow shrapnel in your face, engine sludging, steering shaft failures, bad floor mats...lol, and thousands more. How many millions of Toyotas have been recalled in the last 10 years?

This kid is so sad, I really feel sorry for this child. He is telling me how the U.S. leads science, when practically the ebola patient in Spain was cured by the Japanese medicine. Oh, that's some "great" American medical prowess, huh? LOL!!

And I'm sorry, kid, the robot stuff is also what the Japanese are good at. And most of the things you mentioned are weapons...which couldn't do jack to save many American soldiers from committing suicide. Did you know more American soldiers died due to suicide than getting killed by enemies during the Iraq war? You want to talk about war business? Tell me something that can save those American soldiers, and I will actually at least say you are somewhat "ok" to even talk about something, kid. If you think all those "useless" weapons that don't do jack for pretty much "all" of the American citizens in their daily lives means something to you, then go join a military.

Oh wait, you are just a couch patriot. I bet you will run away if the duty calls! LOL!!!

And I'm sorry, kid, what "energy advancements", when the U.S. is only about "oil"? And cars are just boxes with wheels, right? Which is why I said the Americans don't know how to make safe and reliable cars. You have no problem with the Big 3 making junk that can kill people.

I really feel sorry for you, friend. You'd go so low, all just to defend those American junk boxes. I really feel sorry for you, my friend. Maybe you should get out more, and go to other countries more, and get back to 2015, instead of World War II ~ Cold War era.

Usually the nations that live in old days basically collapse. Do you know why Detroit bankrupted? Because there are too many kids like you in America, who are "all talk" and do nothing jack, and leave the great U.S. cities for dead when they really needed to correct their mistakes before things were too late.

Sorry, kid, keep living in the 1940~1960's. And you will one day see why so many companies spend billions on automotive technologies. You don't belong here, if you think cars are just boxes with wheels. Go to Fox News forum or something LOL!

And I'm sorry, child. Even though the Japanese car quality has been slipping, I mainly have had no problems with pretty much "all" the Japanese cars I've owned in the past, but tons of issues with the American cars. I have been stranded several times with "Cadillac", yes, the so called "Best" brand of America. Funny, isn't it? When the U.S. leads the so called "Scientific" field as many morons like you call it, I wonder why "reliability" is never an American thing?

And hey kid, like I said, cars are NOT the only industry America fails at.

Nowadays, I see more and more luxury yachts made by the Europeans for the billionaires. How many American companies are in this business?

And obviously fashion, timepieces and such are also not something American. Obviously European.

So, basically America does not know how to make "status symbols", which are very important stuff for ordinary citizens of "America". Did I tell you how many posers there are in this country? lol!! It's a big business and yet, the U.S. miserably fails at it. Like how they fail in cars.

But you pretty much proved my point, kid. All you told me was, America leads in making killing machines. And that is EXACTLY my point! LOL!!!

You really are an idiot, I don't know what to say more.

If you brain doesn't tell you that it takes a lot more intelligence to build a space shuttle than it does to design and build a Tundra truck then I can assure you there is a major recall on your brain.

Ohh, and yet, who landed on the comet in 2014? Europeans. Not Americans. Where was NASA, moron? LOL!!!

And did you know the technologies in Nintendo's NES (Old videogame console) has a lot more technologies than the techs you would need to send men to the moon? Apparently this is true.

I really feel sorry for you, kid. I really don't know what to say more. You proved to me that America is pretty much good for nothing. Great job! LOL!

So if I were to say, comparing 60's moon landing operation to 2015 Tundra, oh I would say you'd need a lot more intelligence to build the new Tundra, because hey, you'd need to design the car so that it would last more than a decade.

But the Americans can only design things that last....a few days? Or maybe you are happy with cars like that?

I mean, why are you even on this forum, when obviously you don't even really care about cars? And obviously you are just a couch patriot, too. What's your point exactly?

Aww did I own you so bad, now that's all that you can say? Aww I'm sorry, friend. Maybe I showed too much of my intellectual prowess, I truly apologize.

By the way, maybe you should see this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhH78NnRpp0

It's called Finland phenomenon. It's basically the Harvard professor learning the education system of.... "elementary school" of Finland.

Why? Because America's education system is a world class joke. And any country with bad education system does not last long. Why do you think the Europeans care so much about education now?

But anyhow, come back to me when you have the solutions to fix America. Or you can just go back living in the WWII ~ Cold War era like many uneducated Americans do and live off of the past glories.

And just so you know, you think cars are mere boxes with wheels.

I can see you don't know Fordism and how Detroit's automobile industry was like a symbol of the American prowess in the past. Cadillac used to be even far superior to Rolls-Royce, even the European royal families buying Cadillac.

But of course, since you don't even know how the industries even work, you think if the country is only good at making some "weapons", then you think the country is soooooo powerful. Are you like an elementary school kid or something? Because I can see you don't know what kind of things drive the economy, and why the U.S. used to be known as the greatest.

But clearly, now the European nations lead everything, and the U.S. is left with dust. Not to mention now all the American jobs are shipped to Asian countries.

Like I said before, come back when you have the solutions to fix America. I'm already sick and tired of so many uneducated Americans saying "Ohhh America is the best, because it has Facebook, McDonald's and weapons!"

It's like I'm looking at people with 2 digit IQ. Or probably 1.

Nope. I just don't have time to reply to 5 year olds that don't know the difference between a space shuttle and a toyota tundra.

When I was a dumb teenager I thought my Honda Accord and Toyota Tacoma were the best vehicles in the world. Then my transmission started slipping on the Accord at 45k miles. It would eventually only go in reverse. Those transmission don't even have a transmission filter...smart engineers forgot to put one. The Tacoma blew a differential seal at 70k miles and required a rebuild. I don't know what you know about differentials, but even Yugos have reliable differentials. It's part of a car that will probably still work on 99% of scrapped cars at junkyards.
Then the AC evaporator broke in the Tacoma. That was it for me. From now on only Mercedes and F250 diesel for my trucking needs. NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER will I have Toyota or Honda junk in my house.

Ever since the fatal accident where the Lexus wouldn't turn off (remember the unintended acceleration?), I thought it was required for a car with push-button ignition to power off if the button is held (not just punched)? If not required, isn't that what was claimed would have worked? If the Lincoln will power off while driving without being held down, then yes, they need to alter the firmware.
