2015 Ford F-150 King Ranch Photos- Ford Comes With Guns BLAZING With UNREAL New Aluminum F-150!
We saw the all new Ford F-150 at last year's Detroit Auto Show #NAIAS and were really excited to see if the reality would live up to the hype surrounding the all new military grade aluminum F-150.

Well, if my first days of ownership are any indication (purchased on 12/31/14 at
Sunrise Ford, Fontana, CA.
) the competition has been left FAR behind in the dust and a LOT of homework will be required to best this GIANT leap for truck kind.
Our full review + video is in the works but for now we have put together an amazing gallery of the beast for your viewing enjoyment.
This is the FIRST 2015 King Ranch 4x4 157" wheelbase in the state of CA. so NO ONE has this many detailed high quality shots of the new truck.
Give us your opinion on the new ride as you will see details I never knew were in the car until I actually got to drive it.

That tailgate is a bit much but the interior is top notch. I picked up a 2014 platinum recently for work and it's great but this 2015 is definitely a touch above. Interested to see how the meshing of panels stands the test of time in this aluminum body. Especially after some towing and hauling.

The orders on this thing are out the door. The response has been beyond positive. Between pre-orders and walk-in demand versus stock coming, they aren't gathering dust.

Game changer! The F series reign as best selling vehicle in America seems very safe, and may just continue well into the foreseeable future. Yes, GM is looking at aluminum for their next generation of trucks, but the buying public loves, and reward companies like Ford, that are leaders and innovators, not those that is always following

And we have to remember that GM's "all new" trucks were not "all new". They stiffened the frame, did never sheet metal and carried the engines over. GM and FCA have an expensive dilemma to confront.

And the all new Corvette is not "all new" and yet, it is as reliable as Chrysler Neon.
btw, I like this truck. Looks nice.

But how many American are lining up to pay over $60K for a stinking pick up truck?

The answer is: MANY! Those are among the easiest to sell.

Lots. Average pickup sales are north of 40k now and they are only getting nicer and more fuel efficient with each new model (except for Toyota on fuel).

Shocking as it is....but the reason - automakers are still pumping out more & more expensive pickups - is b/c there are consumers who continue to buy them. You'd think with all the "tech & luxury", the King Ranch version "should" have been a Lincoln branded truck. The expensive price range for an Escalade makes more sense b/c it's "over & above" the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon versions.
Yes, $70k-$80k seems completely ridiculous, but somebody's signing for them, so automakers are more than happy to keep making them.

I wonder how many people buy pickup trucks who don't need a pickup truck.

Spurious argument and completely irrelevant.

1.) How was this "spurious"?
2.) How was this an "argument"?
3.) It's relevant because this thread is about pickup trucks.

I wonder how many people buy a 4 door sedan but don't really need it? i use my f150 for work but... It serves many other purposes. Hauls 5 with as much rear leg room as a 7 series. Can get a very nice interior (luxury level) for under 50k. If driven properly, can get adequate fuel mileage. Capability in winter climate is top notch. Hard to beat the value. So... People like to say that others don't "need" a truck... Well... Me personally... I don't need a car that costs as much if not more and can do less... Also... They hold resale value better than most cars so... When the price of sedans gives you as much bang for the buck, you will see more people go back to cars. Until then... Well. It is what it is.

I also tend to agree with trmckin.
I've been shopping for a midsize SUV or truck. I'm a homeowner with a couple of younger kids, and the overall versatility of a pickup holds a huge value over just another midsize sedan or typically equipped SUV. Granted, I admit that I really don't need the mighty full-size SUV & lean more toward the Chevy/GMC mid-sizers....but they're all fairly convincing when you run into situations throughout the year which require a pickup or would've been handled more easily if you had used a truck. The number keeps increasing for me every year & a moderately-equipped version would suit the family just fine.
It'll be interesting to see how long this trend lasts.
As a side note...
These top-end full-size pickups are getting to be so expensive, I wonder how much internal discussions Toyota/Nissan/Hyundai/BMW/VW/M-B execs & engineers are having to consider future competition. A mid-size truck equipped like a fully loaded mid-size sedan or SUV would probably be the "sweet spot" for foreign competition in the future...and would probably what the typical consumer will need & actually use. I guess there's a reason Honda has done well with the Ridgeline - it doesn't need to be this baddazz super off-road capable truck - just needs to be comfortable like the Accord/Camry with an open bed for misc "stuff".

From what I have seen the interior is not as fancy as I though it would be.

You would be wrong. King Ranch now trumps Laramie/Longhorn RAM.

It's not as in your face as the longhorn. Definitely as nice though. The platinum is the lux level minus the cowboy motif. I love mine. Best leather seats I've ever owned.

Possibly but the dash plastics seemed a bit flimsy, the ones around the vents just didn't give a feel of solidity.

$60,000 is going to be a tough pill to swallow for more than the probably about 3k people who can afford this ridiculously overpriced behemoth.
Average Americans will buy the 25k Silverado. Now that gas is cheap, who needs to spend an extra $7k on an aluminum Ford?

The same people who spend over $100k for Escalades, RR's, G-Class, etc.
Your error is you're assuming this is the same old thing wrapped in aluminum. This new F-150 is a spectacular step ahead in the world of trucks. Every single truck stereotype is thrown out the window once you drive a King Ranch, Lariat or a Platinum.
