#NAIAS: Infiniti FULLY REVEALS The Q60 Concept — Did It Just CHECKMATE The 4-Series, A5, ATS, RC In ONE Fell Swoop?
And the hits just keep on coming tonight! Yesterday we just received the invitation from Infiniti to stop by an event displaying the all-new Q60 Concept for its unveil.

Well, it turns out we may not have to wait to see what will lie beneath. That's because the company distributed ONE "teaser" image of the Q60 Concept. Teaser, it is not. The vehicle is fully unveiled from a front 3/4 view.

Looking at this image closely you'll note that it largely is inspired by the likes of the Q50 sedan but features some more flamboyant design cues. Take, for example, the reverse kink, sharp bone line and neatly integrated venting behind the front wheels.

This car is looking DAMN GOOD.

So, I have to ask: did the Q60 Concept just CHECKMATE the competition in form of the Audi A5, BMW 4-Series, Cadillac ATS Coupe and Lexus RC350?

I always loved the styling of Infiniti. They always were a lot more beautiful than Ferrari and Maserati, and I have to say, this new coupe is going to look amazing just like the current model.

It looks like a prop from The Jetsons. The Big Boys have nothing to worry about.

Its ok for 2015 cars to venture out of the 2006 BMW 3 series styling

ExarSadow writes "Its ok for 2015 cars to venture out of the 2006 BMW 3 series styling."

That's a red herring, because it's also okay to make designs that withstand the test of time rather than yielding to the trendy and transient appeal of the moment.

If we look back to the 1950s, we notice that the desired cars of the time are examples like the '57 Chevy Bel Air, a production vehicle that wasn't radically different from others of its time, but which was significantly different to be still appealing nearly 60 years later. When we look at the concept cars of the 1950s, they look like a laughably dated view of "The Future." The same is true for cars of the 1960s (e.g., 1964 Ford Mustang) and their embarrassingly awkward Futurama concepts.

Today, when we look at the concept cars of our time, we see them very much the same way as did the people of the 1950s and 1960s viewing their concept cars. Some viewers are enamored and doe-eyed, believing "this is the way of the future."

Looks pretty good, but will as any other concept lose a bit of its flow once production ready. The coupe form works the Q50 styling better than a sedan so this should still end up pretty good.

@Chewy: I agree with you. I've thought their design is pretty neat but it's always been the interiors I've taken issue with. The VQ engines they had were reliable but the interior plastics and weird things they've done are questionable.

If they keep the production model close to that then yes. That is one beautiful car.

I really think this looks pretty stunning, though the front lower fascia looks clumsy compared to the rest of the car. Hopefully the rear will be just as amazing and the production car doesn't deviate much. This could really be a stylistic homerun.

That being said, if it drives anything like the sedan, it's going to be be an utter failure and a huge disappointment.

It's a terribly confused design that has too much surface excitement and yet despite that it is duller than dull. This is a part of de Nysschen's legacy at Infiniti and it indicates that Cadillac is screwed to hell and back with that moron at the wheel.

This is not a pretty car... beauty is not a word to use here... I would say its "interesting" and not as hideous as the current Lexus design language, but its definitely not pretty....

Very sharp indeed! I do agree with the comments on the lower front that sort of remind me of gills...need to clean that up a bit for a production model.

Looks kind of melted. Has that ugly dipping line along the side that looks cribbed from the BMW 1-series. I'll say this much: for people to get excited about the looks of this thing, expectations must have been pitifully low.

Which they were, so fair enough.

I'm okay with the "angry trout" front end but the rear 3/4 looks a bit heavy.

Why does it have to "checkmate" something? Isn't it possible to have more than one viable alternative? Some car enthusiasts remind my of pre-schoolers.

concept schmoncept.....Production model will look nothing like it. How many times have we been fooled before.

not bad, but I fear the actual production car will be watered down, and the concept is a Coupe and the market for Coupes is shrinking from what I am reading

looks like this might be the production vehicle based on the additional pics just released.
