Lexus Set To Terrorize The Performance Segment With New 467 HP 2016 GS-F

Lexus Set To Terrorize The Performance Segment With New 467 HP 2016 GS-F

Lexus is yet again showing its sporty disposition and rumbling into Detroit. The luxury vehicle manufacturer has announced the much-anticipated GS F performance sedan, which combines a refined four-door package with the speed and agility of a premium sports car, will be revealed at the North American International Auto Show on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 8:40 a.m. EST in the Lexus display at Cobo Center in Detroit. The GS F will be the latest vehicle to join Lexus’ high-performance “F” line that already includes the RC F coupe.

Although the GS 350 F SPORT shares the same platform as the new GS F, they should not be confused. The GS F will have enhancements throughout, including to its engine. Under the hood will be a responsive, naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 that produces a remarkable 467 hp (473 PS )* at 7,100 rpm and peak torque of 389 lb.-ft. (527 Nm)* at 4,800-5,600 rpm. This sophisticated engine uses both Otto and Atkinson combustion cycles to maximize power and efficiency in given situations.  Befitting the nature of this high performance sedan, the engine will be mated to a lightning quick eight-speed automatic gearbox with manual-shifting capabilities.

Lexus’ innovative Torque Vectoring Differential (TVD), also found in the RC F, will be part of a long line of standard equipment that’ll make the GS F’s handling stand out from the crowd. The TVD features three operating modes:
Standard (default) provides a balance of agility and firmness;
Slalom emphasizes nimble steering response and agility; and
Track emphasizes control during high-speed circuit driving.
The GS F unibody will also feature structural reinforcements and suspension exclusively designed to optimize this super sedan’s handling envelope without detracting from its ride quality. Drivers will appreciate the GS F’s handling and smoothness on the open highway as well as the sedan’s ability to devour challenging roads, whether they’re winding up the side of a mountain or at a racetrack. The new GS F will offer drivers a very balanced sedan with genuine dual personality, equally adept at trimming lap times and the commute back home.

Nice car but it would have much of an impact just like the RCF.

I know. You have a badass baller-mobile called Mercedes C class which you got with discounts.

Because anyone rich should buy luxury things with discounts.

So this is why Warren Buffer drives a Cadillac, Bill Gates a Ford Explorer and Mark Zuckerberg an Acura.GTI? Like the rich/wealthy don't look for discounts, what an idiotic assumption. This is why people like you will never become wealthy.

Oh wait, let me sound like JDM. "I bought a luxury car and I paid more than everyone else because this is what rich people do" LoL! You really think this is how rich people build their wealth? Not taking care of their assets? Wow you are indeed vey ignorant. You need to read "The Millionaire Next Door" LoL!

Just to show how dumb you are, let me explain.

Buffett (Learn to spell his name): He prefers American cars. And now he drives a Subaru. He does not like fancy cars. But you are just a dumb poser who wanted a Mercedes.

Bill Gates: He has Porsche and many other cars, not just an Explorer. Get your facts right.

Zuckerberg apparently bought himself a Pagani recently.

So, I'm sorry. If you are rich, you just pay it.

Oh hey, better yet, why even buy something like a Mercedes, when there is a far more reliable choice like LEXUS IS? You would not have to pay tons for maintenance, and you would be a smart buyer by just buying it. I wonder why you chose a C class, and even had to get a discount for it?

Hey, baller, don't even try to justify your poser-ism, because frankly, you are merely desperately justifying your purchase. But I'm sorry, if you are even a "real" smart buyer, you'd go with Honda Accord. Or a Camry. Reliable and cheap. Ever thought of it, moron?

And I will never be wealthy. I don't even spend much on cars, and I usually don't spend much on things, either.

You on the other hand, are a poser, and unfortunately, I only just feel so sorry for you for being so happy buying a C class with some discounts (And think you have an S class? Amuse me, friend)

And I have read many stories about the owners of BMW 7 series, and how many of them are angry with the bad reliability of the car.

But I noticed there are two types of people on this. One is, the people who are angry for having to pay so much to maintain, and the other is the people who don't care about paying so much for maintenance, because they have money anyway.

You think you are some kind of a "smart" buyer, but I'm sorry, you are nothing but a poser. I'm really sorry, but that's the truth.

And usually, the people like you are the ones who are sooo jealous of people like Floyd Mayweather, who has 7.5 million dollar worth of cars in Las Vegas I think? And he has another car collection in Miami, and also in LA.

Ya, keep telling yourself that you are a "smart" buyer. I believe you.

Wow JDM it sucks to be a loser like yourself, cannot make it in the "land of opportunity" therefore you had to leave it. Now you have to "hate America" and bash it, so sad:(
Call it what you want but I am doing just great and loving it. By the way, "I don't keep up with Joneses" so I am very happy with my car purchases and my financial security. Seems you are not happy with yours though.

And wow, inferiority complex much? I said I "don't" spend much on things, and practically I am not even close to being a big materialistic person like you are, and I am usually fine with small living. And I am happy with where I am.

And yet, you make up your own fantasy just to make yourself feel better.

Really, guy? Do you really want to make yourself go that low? Because really, I think you deserve better.

So, who exactly will this GS-F be "terrorizing"? I thought this F model was looking wanting to take on the M5, E63, RS7 and CTS-V. With 467 hp and 389 lb-ft of torque, no way that's going to happen. It'll give the CTS V-Sport and S6/S7 a run for their money, certainly.

And the styling updates are like putting red lips, smokey eye shadow and stillettos on Kathy Bates.

Who comes up with these dumb arse headlines? This car isn't going to terrorize any segment. The E63, M5, RS7 and new CTS V will ALL STOMP this car. 500hp hp was the benchmark 5+ years ago and Lexus still isn't there yet. 467hp isn't going to do SQUAT. At best this will compete with the S6 and CTS V Sport.

No, I don't work at a sweatshop, I am more of a "brain" type, when you are a "brainless" military type. So, my business is something that challenges my intelligence.

And I am a lot younger than you, and I am only starting my own business which I am not sure how big it will go. And frankly, not really interested in going super big nor do I care how much money I have, when you are so happy with your C class that was on a discount. Hey, everyone is different, I guess?

I'm sorry, I am not trying to "fix" the craphole I left. I am merely "educating" the fools like you.

Now go drive your C class which you got it at cheap price, my friend. Go tell the world you have so much money and you drive a Mercedes-Benz, my baller friend.

I sure will, I will continue enjoying my military pension (because we are brainless) while you have to work your tail off for the rest of your life and yes I will very much enjoy my "C" class that I got at a discount like every car I have ever purchased which allows me to have lots of discretionary and disposable income to have a nice bank account and enjoy life while you have to live your miserable life. Like I said, sucks to be you. Good luck with the ramen noodle business. At least here in the US we love ramen. Now let me go and watch tv with my wife while you play with your five fingers and your wiener tonight.

Yes, meaning you are just a useless, brainless idiot who is not really contributing anything to the society. Hey, what did JFK say? He said don't be lazy, and work your butts off.

Yes, I work, because I am a hard working person. And you are not. And you represent what America is today. If you were the symbol of the United States, it would be a Communist country by now.

By the way, I wonder why you are paid nicely by the military, when the veterans that I know of are living like broke. They never earned big money in their lives.

And ramen? Do you know what "intelligence" even means? It's something related to using brains, meaning office job. Now do you see why I called you brainless?

You can go be with your wife "anytime", no one is forcing you to be here, but only "your mind".

Anyway, good luck with your jo...wait, you don't even have a job.

Sorry but I forgot mention, I am Project Manager Sr. for a Japanese Energy Company. I only work 5 to 6 months out of the year but I get paid for the entire year (very handsomely). I guess they need "brainless" people like myself to run operations in the Americas.
By the way look at military pensions for 05s & 06s after 20 years. Since you are so "intelligent" do the math PM Sr. salary plus military pension.

As the people responsible for this site, you three need to take some strong action. This isn't JDM being playful. It is a pattern of posting by JDM that first takes the discourse off topic with numerous bashes against the USA, and once someone responds JDM takes it into name calling and then personal disparagement against the individual. USNA is but the latest in a long line of members. Check out the history. A quality web site has rules about the kind of stuff JDM does, with offenders being barred from the site for a period of time, or permanently. If you won't do that at least do as other quality sites do and give members the tools to block posts from members they don't wish to read. Take a vote from members as to what they want done.

And the reason why Vette wants me banned is because he does not know how to handle arguments, and does not know how to respect the opinions.

When was the last time you posted anything with proof? You only post things that blatantly show your stupidity, and name calling? As if you have NEVER done it against me before, when I was trying to keep things civil.

And numerous bashes against the U.S.A.? Now that's pretty laughable. I didn't know pointing out the "facts" was called violation of anything. I guess you will love being in countries like North Korea, since they only expect blind patriotism from its own citizens and nothing else.

You really should go out more, I mean, get out of America sometimes. I mean only around 30% of Americans have passports, meaning many Americans do not really know what the world is like. And you are the living proof of it.

Don't be a cry baby, Vettey. You tried to argue with me, and you miserably failed, so you left, and now you wish for a ban. Don't be a baby and try to discuss with me like an adult for once.

Underpowered and overstyled. This car is Lexus's attempt to compete with other brands approaching 600hp? Also, it will look dated before you know it. It would be nice if the Japanese could create a timeless design that doesn't resemble antiquated electronics after 10 years.

Why did it take so long to develop this product? I thought the GS350 was about to come out in 2016 with a new design for the line, making this model obsolete in the first year it's made. I don't think it's ugly at all...just that the design is stale.
