Alfa Romeo To Take On 5 Series In US With New Sedan - Are You The Least Bit Curious?

Alfa Romeo is known to be working on a new midsize sedan to compete against the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes-Benz E-Class. However, rumors have been bouncing back and forth as to what Alfa will call the new sedan, which continues the brand’s onslaught of introducing new models in the US amid their big reintroduction.

The new model is codenamed, Tipo 952, or Type 952, and is actually expected to be called the Giulia after numerous reports in the past suggested the new sedan would get a different name. This latest update hails in from AutoEdizione in Italy, who heard that while the new sedan should be called Giulia, it might be called something totally different in the US, like “6C.”

The only thing Fiat-Chrysler has done was making the Italians develop more cheaper cars using Chrysler, and expanding the Italian influence all over the United States.

Can we say Chrysler is now better than ever? I don't think so, seeing how the Dodge Charger now looks like an Alfa Romeo. Ridiculous.

If people realized up much Charger/300/Challenger is under the Ghibli and Qporte they would be stunned. The last thing FCA needs is another 300 based vehicle like the Ghibli, price like the Ghibli, and stepping on the Ghibli.

Alfa Romeo needs to be a near-premium brand between Fiat/Dodge/Chrysler and Maserati. Alfa should be FCA's Acura i.e. a "premium-ish" brand derived from mainstream models.

would love to see Alfa with a bigger presence in the US. Have always been a fan especially when I lived in Europe for a bit.

The Ghibli V-6 starts at $70k and S model starts at $78k. The 535i starts at $56k, the A6 3.0 starts at $57k and the E350 starts at $53k. Not to mention the 528i starts at $50k, the A6 2.0 starts at $48k, and the E250 Bluetec starts at $52k.

There appears to be some room for Alfa to sneak in a model range below the price point of the Ghibli.

You're clearly not conversant with the market. The Ghibli sells WELL BELOW sticker. Alfa was NEVER a premium brand. Making it one now is idiocy.

The Ghibli certainly doesn't sell that much below sticker in my local area. So glad I'm conversant with this market. And, to my knowledge, Alfa, at least in Europe, has always been a luxury brand.

@Maserati123 while you are waiting would you like to buy a Chrysler 300 that will be everything the Alfa is for half the price or do you want to wait and pay double for your Alfa 300

pricing it near the ghibli makes no sense. it should be right between the 300 and the ghibli. Additionally, the ghibli needs to be substantially improved, it's looks nice but isnt competitive, and an Alfa would need to be even more competitive to have a chance in the market.

The Ghibli may sell below it's sticker price but it is still priced at 70 grand. So pricing the top end Alfa sedan at $50 grand if the car has the goods may not be out of line. The Giulia or 6C should then be priced in the mid to high 30's with the 4 cylinder engine and low 40's with the V6.Of the following marquee's Mercedes, BMW, Audi I think Alfa should be priced on the lower end of these models.
