#NAIAS: Toyota Releases The GOODS On The 2016 Tacoma — Pictures! Pictures! Pictures!

Between the all-new 2016 Nissan Titan and 2016 Toyota Tacoma, it looks like the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) may be more of a pick-up truck show. At least between two of the bigger Japanese auto manufacturers.

Hot off the press from Toyota is a brief statement and a smattering of pictures of the 2016 Tacoma.

Old truck...new grille...new tail lights and still better than the OLDE Nissan Frontier and the Isuzu garbage being reconstituted into the Canyon/Colorado....

All the buildup for new sheet metal? Meh... Shares many of the same body lines as the last 10 years...

Will have to see the power train and interior before passing judgement.

Only so much they can do with the design on any truck in the market. I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma that I drive when it's crappy outside. I have almost 90K miles and only put a new battery in it and recently did a setup of new Michelin tires for it. It took them long enough to get this new model out. It's only been 10 years with this same design, engine configuration, etc. As one said they just changed the tail-lights and front grill over those years. For this 2016 model looks like they FINALLY
did some updates with the engine and also the interior materials being used. There was always way to much plastic inside the Tacoma.

Disappointed in Toyota. They are doing the typical American thing and just doing refreshes. As old as this design is, all they did was refresh the front and rear. I was looking forward to the new Tacoma, but its just a facelift! looks the same from the side.
