Automakers Now On A Roll - How Long Until They Revert BACK To Their Old Ways?

The good times are returning to Detroit, cautiously.

A hometown auto industry that stood at the brink of collapse six years ago powers into next week's North American International Auto Show behind strong consumer demand and cheap gas prices that make its profit-rich pickups and SUVs arguably more attractive — for now.

The city synonymous with its three automakers is out of municipal bankruptcy, the largest in American history. The home of the auto show, Cobo Center, now is a regional exemplar of disciplined management instead of a riverfront embarrassment. Downtown is buzzing, and the automakers are back.

If your an automotive enthusiast, you want to see these companies succeed. They have a rich history and are part of the social and economic fabric of the United States. Some of the most iconic and historically significant vehicles were produced by these companies. However, they still make questionable choices that are counter-intuitive to there success. Now we just sit back and wait for the other shoe to drop... all the while hoping it doesn't.

'He says the risk is not "so high of going back to business as usual. They are keenly aware of how good the others are," referring to foreign competitors from Germany, Japan, South Korea, even India. "That's going to be with us for some time."'

Some time? More like "always". Do they really think the U.S. has the engineering skills to even compete with India and China? Unfortunately, they don't.

It's not just cars. The U.S. does not know how to make high-speed trains, either. Which is why Musk of Tesla Motors is trying to create this hyperloop thing in order to compete with the French and the Japanese, but this is the quote

'“We probably can’t get American government agencies and institutions to do it.”

One big problem is getting enough capital together to demonstrate and build untested technology. I reached Joseph Sussman, a professor of civil and environmental engineering at MIT just before the announcement today. He noted that the U.S. hasn’t even been able to build proven high-speed technology. “We’re behind the Japanese, the French, and everyone else. Given our inability to put together the package to do high-speed rail, which is proven technology, it’s hard to see how a chancy solution—given that it’s never been implemented—would fare,” he says.'

This is because the U.S. does not know how science even works anymore. The U.S. clearly leads in medical science and military, but other than those two, the U.S. is just laughable. Just like how it was Europe who first landed on the moving comet the first time in history of mankind. Europe lives in the future. The United States still lives in 1945.

Not to mention education, healthcare system and infrastructure are all falling apart in the good ol' U.S.A.

"3. Healthcare

A study last year found that in many American counties, especially in the deep South, life expectancy is lower than in Algeria, Nicaragua or Bangladesh."

"4. Education

The U.S. is among only three nations in the world that does not guarantee paid maternal leave (the other two are Papua New Guinea and Swaziland). This means many poor American mothers must choose between raising their children and keeping their jobs."

And there are people who just blindly deboost my comments (I would say they are my fans), but please. Is it me talking nonsense? No, I am merely speaking in an academic way, using the right sources to point out the facts. I am not trying to troll, but to spread the truth.

I wish to see America succeed, but frankly, the Americans are happy to live in a third world country right now. If this trend keeps going, then eventually even if the U.S. gets to the North Korean level of quality of life, the Americans will still tell themselves, "This is the land of opportunity! This is the land

of the brave!" like a brainwashed parrot repeating the same thing over and over.

And also we need to remember why so many Americans always say "You don't like America? Then go to China! Or Cuba!"

This is because the Americans themselves know the U.S. is only better than the third world countries (And they never dare to compare themselves to the super mighty European nations)
