#NAIAS: Mercedes-Benz Announces The Debut Of The All-New C350 Plug-In Hybrid, REAL-LIFE SHOTS HERE!
Last night we got our first glimpse of a slew of all-new introductions from Mercedes-Benz. Although we're sure the show's highlights will surround the all-new GLE Coupe, you shouldn't miss out on the three-pointed star's little guy here.

The all-new C350 Plug-In Hybrid will use tech derived from the S550 Plug-In Hybrid and we're sure to think it will be a force to be reckoned with as total system output is rated at 275 horsepower and a staggering 443 lb.-ft. of torque.

For those of you looking to run on pure electric power alone, you'll eek out 20 mile — we were hoping for more — but given cheap gas prices that are here for the foreseeable future, it may just be enough for in-market consumers.

Mercedes-Benz's press release follows:

Efficiency, dynamism and comfort — the best of three worlds

Stuttgart. Following its premiere in the S-Class, Mercedes-Benz is now offering its most advanced hybrid technology yet in the C-Class. With a range of 20 miles in purely electric mode, local emission-free driving is now a reality. Its four-cylinder gasoline engine, in conjunction with a powerful electric motor, gives it a total system output of 275 horsepower and 443 lb.-ft. of torque. This allows the new C350 PLUG-IN HYBRID to deliver the performance of a sports car while still offering exemplary fuel consumption. In addition, the standard AIRMATIC air suspension can be controlled via the internet to create a truly exceptional level of driving and climate comfort. The C350 PLUG-IN HYBRID will be available in U.S. dealerships in the fall...

The new C300 was on my short list for my next lease...then recent photos and complaints by buyers have surfaced about the 'bleeding' faux leather seats. I have seen the photos and they are awful looking...so I have crossed this car off! MB claims it is the resin used to treat the seats to be more 'flexible'. Seriously...do they not test this stuff any more? Also, these are coming out of Alabama's new factory...so another warning sign for me.

I would tell you to relax and they'll sort it out.

Every first model year product is bound to have stuff like this come out.

It's easily the classes top product, IMHO.

Have you seen the pics? And folks are reporting that dealers are being less than sympathetic. It's unfortunate that this faux leather is being placed in these $40-$50k cars without true quality control measures in place. What is the long-term outlook for these seats? I'm not paying for their experiment...sorry.

Gimme REAL leather and while you are at it not the rough B grade stuff the Mercedes M offers as an option, but REAL "buttery" smooth supple stuff, like the Brits and the Americans use. Crossed the Mercedes M off my list after seeing what they use.

I didn't say you had to.

Personally, I'd wait it out though.

A4, 3-Series, IS, ATS/CTS, have NOTHING on the all-new C, IMHO.

Mercedes should ditch the "Electric B" hatchback car and put that drivetrain into either the C class or the GLA class SUV. They would sell a ton of them (but they are probably restricted in their deal with Tesla who supplies the components) if they marketed a real, luxury "car" version that would be a mini-tesla.
