#NAIAS: Lexus GS F Has The Power, But Does This INTERIOR Give You The Tools To Tear Up The Track?

#NAIAS: Lexus GS F Has The Power, But Does This INTERIOR Give You The Tools To Tear Up The Track?
So now we have the ground pounding 467 HP GS F.  Yes it took a while, but we know that Lexus got it right with all of that extra R&D time right?  Maybe or maybe not.

To start with the stock GS really is not that bad at all.  Maybe not as sterile as the Germans do it, but then again not as intuitive either.  This is both bad and good.  My dad loves his GS interior and would feel right at home with this one  (high bolstered seats no withstanding).  But is this the cockpit you want to carve those canyons in California?

Could this be a great track car for the autocross? Or do Lexus guy even do that?  The point is you make of it what you want.  The typical Lexus driver wants creature comfort and performance.  This one might do both equally well.

Check out the shots below and tell us if this is the ultimate performance sedan interior.

Carbon fiber looks like one of those cheap stick on dash kits.

And how many colors are they going to use? Brown, tan, grey, black, silver, nickel...

Lexus' design themes are just so...odd. In their stock cars, they mix the extreme with the mundane and it just creates contradiction and, sometimes, a muddled mess. The enhanced styling of the GS-F just takes that up a level or two. You have an audacious grille, with flashy headlights/LEDs, and stylized (note that I didn't say stylish) taillights, attached to one of most non-expressive and uninspired bodies. The interior is no different. The carbon fiber, sueded trims, contrasting color themes, patterns seat stitching, all on top of one of the dullest layouts with the ugliest steering wheel, just doesn't work.
