#NAIAS: So, How Does THIS Vehicle Look For A Chinese-Built Car? Would YOU Consider One?

While we're still scratching our heads trying to figure out why, exactly, GAC Group decided to bring itself overseas to display three products at the 2015 Detroit Motor Show (NAIAS), we do have one interesting point to bring up. One of the vehicles it displayed didn't look too bad.

Seriously!

(NAIAS) Detroit Auto Show

Called the GS6 Limited, it looks like a Volkswagen CC, an Opel and a Kia that procreated. Clearly, it has a sporty orientation.

Now where you may actually be impressed is in the cockpit. That's because the initial quality looks on par with the likes of Hyundai and Kia. Check out the center stack with large infotainment display, the leather seats with Alcantara portions to hold passengers in place and the contrasting red stitching.

While this isn't completely uncommon in today's modern rides, it doesn't look half bad — honestly.

All that said, I am a bit curious: Would YOU ever give a Chinese-made product a thought if you were in-market for an all-new ride? Assume it has the same initial quality as what is pictured below.

They could put one in my driveway. I'd be curious to see how it stands up over time. The Chinese will surprise people. I would not be surprised if in 15 years VW is owned by a Chinese company.

Come on, Matt. Let's not troll like this.

I never troll and I only tell the truth. And I admit the facts as facts. We both know the one that the Chinese will buy is GM and Ford.

@JDMUSMuscle...take some exlax and when you know anything about the industry, speak clearly. Your cultural/racial bigotry is off the charts. #HateSpeech

There is nothing hatespeech about my stuff, Matt. In fact, American, is not even a race itself. The U.S. is just the land of multiculturalism.

And unfortunately, many of white Americans just happen to be more loyal to their homelands in Europe. And I am merely educating you on that fact, my friend.

And I already know a lot about the industry.

The American cars are trash, because hey, if they are not, they should have no problem selling their cars everywhere in the world, like the Japanese.

The Americans will always be competing with the Japanese, Koreans and now the Chinese. Since the U.S. has no skills to even compete with the Europeans anyway.

So well, what more do I need to know, Matt? :D

Hate to break it to you JDM, but here in Europe they have a secret love for American pickup trucks.

It sure looks like it's call the GA6, not GS6.

Don't care for the exterior, but the interior doesn't look too bad. Have to see it in real live, as pictures just don't cut it.

Not that I'd ever buy a Chinese automobile, but competition is good for all.

We all know when the Chinese come to the North American market, it means the Americans, the Japanese and the Koreans are all in trouble, if they actually manage to make reliable cars.

Especially the Americans would be in a big trouble. At least the Japanese are barely surviving, the Koreans, trying their best but still recognized as the bottom of the food chain, and the Americans....well they always sucked.

So the Chinese vs. Americans would be very interesting.

It looks good, but IDK how it will hold up.

This depresses me - shows that "design language" has been so standardized across the industry that you can actually build something on it.

GAC...GA6...they got it wrong on both counts. It's more like GAG!

And Mr.Darringer may find himself working for the Chinese, since they like buying up everything American. They could end up owning Ford and Matt will be looking to put a Lincoln Mao Tse-Tung in every driveway.
