Cadillac To Unveil Flagship CT6 Sedan At New York International Auto Show In March

General Motors Co. struggling luxury brand Cadillac said Thursday it will unveil its new large CT6 sedan on March 31 and said it has invested $300 million in its Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly plant to build the vehicle.

GM said the new vehicle will use advanced mixed-material manufacturing techniques for the car that goes on sale in the fourth quarter of 2015. The vehicle will be unveiled March 31 —and confirmed it would show it off New York International Auto Show. He said the advanced material mix of aluminum and steel would expand to Cadillac’s entire lineup.

Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen said at the Washington Auto Show that the brand is improving and reiterated the brand would invest $12 billion and add eight new products by 2020. He said Cadillac plans to unveil diesel SUVs and cars in the United States and Europe. He said Cadillac is just starting work on a new crossover SUV that should go on sale in about four years.

El Miraj would have been far better than the behemoth above. Sure the El Miraj is large but it looked sleek and much less bulky than this thing.

I don't think that's supposed to really be it... just a rendering by someone. Anyway, I'd rather see more of the Ciel in it. That was a gorgeous show car.

Exactly, the CT6 should have more of a swept back look than the XTS cab forward design, or at least that's the hope.

I'm sure it will considering it's rear wheel drive. Just don't expect Ciel like styling. GM has already announced that this model will be an evolution of the current styling themes. The Ciel influence is being reserved for the true flagship which won't arrive for a few more years.

Oh agree on the Ciel. I think the El Miraj was closer to a production ready car but really loved both. I really hope they don't unveil something like the above. Not sure if that image is based on any leaks or inside info but it is not really what Cadillac needs.

The XTS is ungainly looking.

If that's accurate, it's HIDEOUS.

A big Cadillac would be nice but hopefully it will look better than whats in the picture.
Cadillac has enough little cars now lets get back to American Luxury cars.

thats a nice possible concept rendering above. after seeing that Buick concept, i'd like to see updated renderings based on that where the passenger space is bit more swept back & has less elements from the XTS. the CT6 should be an evolutionary step forward for vehicle design in Cadillac.
