#NAIAS: And The WINNER Of The BEST Car In Show Is...
Looking back on the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS), I have to say it was a pretty eventful one. Pre-show I was thinking about all of the unveils happening on day one and trying to figure out how to get my footing. We did OK though.

Agent 001 did the shooting, and Agent 009 and myself did the best we could to keep you abreast of the latest breaking news.

But when it comes to picking the BEST car of show, our job was actually pretty easy this year. That's because the all-new Ford GT is immense in just about every single way imaginable. I told 001 my sentiment: "I just want to hang out in the Ford booth all day long."

I don't think I was the only one, either.

The reality is this, Ford just blew everyone out of the water in Detroit. Any one of its three all-new product debuts would have fought for the top spot; however, the company unleashed all three at once. No one could compete with that. It wasn't even close.

That said, of the three the GT was the clear-cut winner. We can't wait to see it productionalized and start being built in 2016.

Well done, Ford!

Completely and rightfully stole the NSX's thunder; and it's Acura's fault for teasing and taking so long...

BINGO!

I am still hoping the NSX drives awesome...

A true surprise/shocker in a world where it's hard to be because everything is leaked or teased well in advance.

Completely agree. And it if it is anything like the last GT, it will be the best bargain super car on the market, if you can get your hands on one.

I'm not sure about the "best bargain super car".

From an absolute cost perspective, the new Corvette takes the prize. From a investment perspective, the GT is by far the clear winner. When introduced as a 2005 model, they cost ~$145K to ~$165K, today these cars start in the low $200K with some exceeding $400K.

Unfortunately I'm expecting the price of the new GT to come in at ~$200K. A lot of top flight cars at that level, but from an investment perspective, this should be another gem.

@Terry

You have a point about the Corvette, but you have to admit the Corvette doesn't look exotic.

The GT has that down pat.

From the rumblings we're hearing, expect it to cost in the region of $200-250k. This will not be like the last-gen GT.

Agree! They made the right choice.

The GT stole the show but not my heart - that belongs to the NSX.

I have to give you props for at least recognizing that the GT deserves the attention it got.

It's ironic the NSX, a Japanese icon is designed by a white woman. On the other hand the Camaro is designed by a Korean guy. Both did fantastic jobs at capturing the manufacture's design language.

Design is design. It knows not sex or ethnicity.

Call me a traditionalist, but exhaust pipes belong UNDER the bumper. And what's with the contrived light tubes in the headlights? Looks like some over-wrought design cues Lexus would stick on their cars. Just my opinion . . .

You have to think a bit more about this.

If they can route the exhaust straight back from the motor then it can save weight instead of wrapping all the tubing around. Not to mention aerodynamic benefits of having a flat undercarriage.

Check out this clip about the 458 Speciale and note the end and placement of the exhaust.
