MINI Issues Stop Sale On Certain 2015 Hardtop Models

In a rather interesting turn of events, the US-bound MINI dealerships halted all deliveries of 2014 and 2015 MINI F56 Cooper models until further notification reports BMW Blog. At the moment the exact reason for this hold-up wasn’t specified but there is an official point of view that sheds some light into the matter.

“MINI has issued a stop delivery order on certain MY 2014/2015 MINI Cooper Hardtops (not Cooper S) as we investigate a potential regulatory compliance issue,” said a statement from the US MINI branch.

I think the "stop-sale" order on the entry Mini's is due to the fact that they are a terrible value compared to the now-excellent VW Golf and GTI lines.

Mimi executives are back at the office wondering - "...gosh we so botched this latest re-design, by basically giving our customers a 3-cylinder econo-box rather than a British motoring machine, that we're going to get our a-- handed to us by our preview customers who are now buying VW and Audi products...."

Anybody else check out the redesigned Mini at a dealer recently? Its ugly and drives like a cheap rental car, IMO
