What Does Nissan Need To Do To Guarantee That The Titan Becomes A Force To Be Reckoned With?

Nissan USA wants to sell 100,000 Titans annually when the new model, with its more extensive lineup, arrives for the 2016 model year.

In the nameplate’s best-ever year, Nissan sold 86,945 Titans in the United States.

• Titan sales declined 20% in 2014

• Titan volume peaked at 87K in 2005

• F-Series, GM, Ram combined for 1.9M full-size truck sales in 2014

A 15% uptick from that record-setting year – the Titan’s second full year in the U.S., 2005 – doesn’t sound like an insurmountable leap forward. But an increase to 100,000 units would represent a six-fold improvement over the Titan’s U.S. sales average from the last three years.

It's too late. The new design is a complete failure. Ford and Chevy have nothing to worry about.

Lost cause. Everyone knows this is just the old Titan with a clumsy restyling and an unproven new Cummins V8 diesel.

Obviously the HD style V8 turbodiesel is the calling card and that's why Nissan is starting out with just the diesel. Overall it looks like the Titan is a 200/2000 level type product, honestly not a bad way for Nissan to carve out a niche in a heavily domestic dominated arena.

It will continue to be a dismal seller even with the Cummins engine.

They need to move the company to the United States and rename it with an American name.

Otherwise - they will remain a niche product

fix that horrible front end! looks like and F-150 and an Nv2500/3500 had a kid. and that tailgate look just like the F-150. Fix that and they will have a winner. I see an emergency refresh coming real soon.

I was looking so forward to this new truck, but after seeing the front end, I will now be looking at the Ram Eco diesel, which will be my first American vehicle purchase.
