VW Launches The MOST POWERFUL Golf R In Company History In 001's Hometown — Did VW Bring Sexy Back?
The MKVII Volkswagen Golf R is now the most powerful production Golf the company has ever made. As a Volkswagen owner and lover for eons now, I can safely say that this is what veedubbers have been waiting for.
Finally a Golf R variant with the power necessary to take on the big baddies. Cars like the soon-to-die Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and Subaru WRX STI.

But if there's one thing we've always appreciated about the .:R models in the Volkswagen lineup, it's their unique appearance. Every generation Golf R has a special little touch that makes it stand apart from the other Golfs in the company's product portfolio. The MKVII isn't any different.
That said, we're going to play a little game.
Can YOU spot ALL the changes VW made to its range-topping Golf R to differentiate it from the base car AND the Golf GTI?
Let us know what modifications you see in the comments, below!

VW continues to get it WRONG. The Golf R is all well and fine except (1) its pricing will be ridiculous and (2) yet again VW does a niche car while ignoring the fact that their mainstream cars are in a shambles.
The Golf is too Camry bland to be sexy.

Agreed!
Sexy would be the Scirocco.
And, yes, this thing will ring the register at nearly $40k while an S3 bases at $41k.

I really like the Golf R as a kind of sleeper car, but sexy it ain't. Really nice exterior and interior but it is not something to lust after. At a minimum you have to go the coupe route for lust worthy or sexy as the question is posed.

Yes, this is about as sexy as a Sprinter van with an AMG package.

A Jetta R and Passat R would make more sense.

I'd rather save $6,000 and get a stripped down GTI with a manual 6spd.
