Lexus just passed BMW for the January, Audi needs to focus on outselling Acura before it can hold a candle to the big boys atleast in the States

Yes, Lexus came very close to Benz this month and will likely continue to tussle with it this year. But, Benz has more new and/or updated models coming this year (including the RWD C-Class, coupe, GLE, GLE coupe, GLK) while Lexus hasn't announced much in the pipeline. At the same time, Lexus is losing where the true money is, at the upper-end of the range with the GS, LS, and LX getting crushed by the E, S, and GL, respectively.

yes, the next Gen GLK will be crucial for Benz as this is their chance to make an affordable, yet practical SUV aimed squarely at the RX and NX.Benz runs rings around Lexus in nearly every other segment.

Its going to to be tricky though as the GLK cant go too far upmarket into the MLE's territory, but if Benz sets the price, standard features, and interior room right, the GLK may be up to the task of taking on the soccor mom cult following of the RX
