Toyota Debut High Performance Camry, And Corolla Models At Chicago Auto Show

Toyota Motor Corp. will unveil special edition versions of its best-selling Toyota Camry mid-size sedan and its Corolla at the Chicago Auto Show next week.

Automakers in growing numbers are unveiling higher priced fancier special editions of mass market vehicles as a way of generating higher profits. Toyota's Camry — the best selling car for the last 13 years in the United States — will get a special edition for the 2016 model — a year after it got a major design.

Camry sales were up 14.7 percent in January, while Corolla sales were up 20.2 percent.

There is nothing "high-performance" about these - they are only appearance packages

Scion should be the performance division.

Line up:

Scion Hachiroku (use a Japanese name) using Lexus IS parts to replace the Subaru crap known as the FRS.

Scion Kawano (a real 2+2 version of the Hachioku) name comes from the designer of the 2000GT

Scion Yoshida / MR2

Then do counterparts to the Fiesta and Focus ST models and the Jetta GLI and call it good.

That's way too complicated for an appliance manufacturer to understand. Toyota is the new GM of the 1980s and 1990s. Nice rental machines.
