SPIED! Out In The Wild, 001 Experiences The All-New Jeep Renegade For FIRST Time — BEST REAL-LIFE Shots Yet!
2015s off to a helluva start here at AutoSpies. Not only did we have a busy 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS), the head cheese Agent 001 has been busy floating around the country sampling the latest and greatest products. The latest vehicle to come into his crosshairs is the all-new, 2015 Jeep Renegade.

This is certainly going to be a BIG deal for the Jeep marque as it is, arguably, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) strongest brand.

It is also positioned to be the company's entry-level offering. This means this compact utility vehicle will be heading up against the likes of the Kia Soul, Subaru XV Crosstrek, soon-to-release Honda HR-V, et al. From where I am sitting, this looks like it may give the aforementioned a run for their money.

BUT, before we really get the head-to-head comparisons going, let's get a good look at the all-new Renegade first. 001's mission placed him in San Jose to capture the latest Jeep and you better believe he took the most thorough pics of the Renegade, inside and out.

Check out the FULL gallery via the link below and scope out just a sampling of his shots below.

This Jeep is going to have a rough time. They need to design a rugged look but loose the awkward angles and disjointed design. The Evoque, the Wrangler, the LR4/Discoery all manage that well but I don't think the Renegade does.

It's funny.

After seeing it in real life at the auto show I wasn't entirely sold on it. But in these shots I am really diggin' the all-new Renegade.

The look of the Trailhawk model is rugged and upmarket, and I can see how this is a far more appealing car than a Soul, Juke or HR-V. Has a more masculine and lively appearance, less tween-like than the others. Issue is that if you try building one online, you can see the price easily hits 28K, placing it in competition with CRV, Rogue, CX5, etc, which will make the appeal more difficult. Don't like the low center console in the interior either.

Agree some there the Trailhawk model is the best looking in the range. Also a lot of the styling elements are pretty neat on their own. However the whole does not come together well and it seems awkward to me. I like the Wrangler, Defender, G Wagon as those look rugged but also cohesive from a design standpoint. Two key areas where they missed the boat, the point where the front door, front fender and windshield A pillar meet. It is like they are splicing two different cars together. Also the C pillar down to the rear fender well and rear side window cut line. Every angle in this are has nothing to with any other angle. Seems really disjointed. Anyways that is how I see it but as they say beauty is in the eye of the .....

Forgot to add, great pictures!!! From the backdrops chosen to the lighting and angles of the shots… nicely done 001! To bad the subject wasn't a beauty :). I saw one up close in Paris over Christmas, it was the light gray looking color. I have not seen that color on anything before but it is kinda neat.

001 knocked these shots out of the park.

You may be referring to the Anvil Gray color that was first seen on the Wrangler Rubicon 10th Anniversary.

Are Jeep designers on drugs?

This vehicle is going to sell like hot cakes. Some you had similar negative comments about the Jeep Cherokee. It's selling quite well. So will the Renegade.
