Detroit's Most Dedicated Worker, James Robertson, Gets An All-New Set Of Wheels
Last Sunday we brought you a story that, at the time, not many people were aware of. It featured a factory worker living in Detroit, James Robertson, and his brutal commute to and from his job.

It was a 23-mile round-trip commute. The average worker takes a similar journey every day but there's a significant difference between Robertson and your average apple.

Robertson, most of the time, hikes 21 miles to his employer. Experiencing hard times, much like greater Detroit, he couldn't afford to pick up new wheels when his 1988 Honda quit on him about 10 years ago.

This didn't deter him from working, however. He has a sterling attendance record and is completely loyal to his employer.

After a truly staggering sum of money was raised via GoFundMe from plenty of compassionate donors, it turns out a dealer has pitched in and provided Robertson with the keys to a 2015 Ford Taurus, which is loaded up according to reports.

After years of huffin' and puffin', logging 21 miles by foot to get to and from work, Detroiter James Robertson can breathe a sigh of relief.

He's getting a car: a shiny red, 2015 Ford Taurus. And it's loaded.

New wheels aside, he's also getting a new nickname tonight.

Robertson is ABC's "Person of the Week." The 56-year-old factory worker will be featured on "World News Tonight," along with a college student who has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars on his behalf, and the man who discovered his story...

Ford Taurus? You give this man, a Taurus. I bet that thing will break within a few weeks, or he will most likely spend more time at the Ford dealership.

And it is truly sad to see something like this. This just shows how America is a third world country with nothing much to be proud of.

"From student loan debt to rising health care costs, money continues to be the top source of stress for most Americans.

Despite an improving economy, nearly 90% of Americans surveyed by the American Psychological Association said the level of stress they are feeling about money has either remained the same or gotten worse in the last year, according to the group's annual Stress in America report."

You guys all know, Papa John's? His pizza brand is as American as apple pie or baseball, and guess what, he eats pizza with a knife and fork. Does he think he is a European royal family member or something? But then again, he is a rich man. And in America, being rich means to act like a European elite.

Does the U.S. GDP being the highest in the world tell us that America is the richest country in the world? Actually no. That only just shows that America spends too much with debt. If the U.S. GDP can not tell you that America is rich, then nothing else can. But then America can not use GPI (And the Europeans much prefer GPI), as that will FULLY show that the U.S. fails to even be a "first world country". I know, it's a sad country, but what can I say. America is what you'd call, the land of posers.

BS means I am lying, then am I? I don't think so. I even gave you the links.

And I am indeed staying on topic, by going deeper on this man's case.

And Matt, let's face it. This is all that America can be, and all that America will ever be.

Not my fault, though, for telling the truth.

I don't see anything wrong with the Taurus, but I agree with everything else you said.

The man chose the Taurus I think. And talk about being provocative for no reason.

A Taurus is hardly a dumb choice. This is a salt of the earth American guy. Taurus is perfect.

What does it matter if it's a Taurus or if it were a used Civic? This hard working man does not have to walk to work any longer due to the kindness of others. The rant above is idiotically focused on the "problems" with America rather than this man's work ethic and determination. BTW: Does it really matter how ANYONE eats pizza? How stupid.

The Americans care. Do you know why? Because they are stupid, just like you said it is stupid.

And those bad problems of America practically show why this man ended up walking miles everyday. I guess you can't really think.

What makes his comments ridiculous? The comments here in particular?

Because they are completely irrelevant to the story at hand and just more of his inflammatory rhetoric. It's a pattern of trolling behavior for which most forums would have gotten him banned already.

that's cool that a bunch of people pitched-in & gave the guy a load of cash & a car.

i cant imagine walking 21 miles a day...everyday though. if it had to, maybe....but would've made a friend, copped a bike...something.
