CAR WARS! WHICH Sports Car Would YOU Want For Your DAILY Driver? BMW M4 vs. Lexus RC F

CAR WARS! WHICH Sports Car Would YOU Want For Your DAILY Driver? BMW M4 vs. Lexus RC F
Although many of the tests conducted by publications happen on racetracks and enthusiasts argue over the differences that can add up to mere tenths of a second, the reality is most sports cars are enjoyed on the street. On the way to work or going for a weekend jaunt, the majority of owners aren't doing rally cross or going to track days.

That's why I specifically ask you WHICH car would you rather DAILY drive: the M4 or RC F?

Having experienced both now, I know my answer. But, rather than spill the beans right this second, I propose to you TWO different autos:

The M4 is lighter, faster and more high strung. If you turn off all the aides you better be ready to wheel and deal. You can wind up in trouble very fast. The RC F, on the other hand, reminds me of the Audi RS5. It's heavier and though it's quick, this F is not nearly as fast as the M. What it does do well, however, is take bumps and make a lovely sound from its fantastic V8 powerplant.

So, what will it be for YOU? The F or the M?

Can the large, naturally aspirated V8 engine in the Lexus RC F match the twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre six-cylinder powerplant of BMW's M4? Matt Prior finds out.

In the end, it is like asking, which country do you prefer?

Japan, or Germany.

And we all know the Europe worshippers would not change their mind. Their choice obviously will be BMW.

I understand your frustration and misplaced resentment towards fans of European autos -however-

Would it kill Lexus to design a vehicle that does not give one a headache when looking at it or buyers remorse after pulling up to the local car wash only to be put to shame by a new Benz or Bimmer

The RC F is a worthy competitor and a darn good performer, the art of luxury sports coupe should flow from the engine to the exterior in one cohesive piece which is where the RC F fails miserably

Whenever people say this thing is ugly, I don't get it.

I mean, the Lexus RC-F looks like an art. And I am not even joking. Exactly how is this ugly?

The M4 doesn't have runflats.

Now if it were between any BMW and an LF-A I'd take the LF-A any day.

The Lexus is beautiful but I don't know how to drive boring automatic transmissions so I'd go with the M4.

Outside of (potential) reliability and stand-out (not necessarily in a good way) styling, I really can't think of any reason why the RC-F would be a better choice over the M4.

V-8 but worse acceleration and fuel economy. No, thanks.

M4, better looking, manual transmission available, hooligan on demand.

Seeing a lot of RC Fs on the road so apparently quite a few people are going that route. Nice looking car in the metal.

If you haven't driven both of them, you should drive both before you decide which one you would or wouldn't get...the Lexus Asphalt Up event is a real eye opener (you get to drive the M4 and RC F back to back)....the RC F is no joke....it sounds way better than the M4, handles amazingly close to the M4 even though it's heavier...

The Europe worshippers only prefer the car that was built by classy Germans.

In fact, it seems like all that heaviness didn't really mean anything. Not to mention RC-F has a V8, and that M3 has some I don't know, what does it have, some econojunk engine?

I'm sure the M3 will sell better in the end. Because after all, we live in a society that is all about Germany.

I did and it is a nice try, yet that is about it. It is quite a bit smaller inside too as squeezing into the back seats is near impossible on the RCF unless the driver is 5'7. I still cant get past the look of the car and the interior trim is not nearly as nice as the BMW.

M4, even if the Lexus is more reliable and probable more comfortable, it is plain FUGLY!!!!
