Asterion Concept Is Lamborghini's First Attempt With A Politically Correct Design Language - Is This The Right Direction?

Lamborghini design boss Filippo Perini and his team faced a tough challenge when they started work on the Asterion concept.

They wanted the Italian supercar maker’s first plug-in hybrid to have a unique look, one that steps away from the angular and aggressive forms of recent cars by borrowing less extreme features from renowned Lamborghinis of the past such as the Miura.

“We need to understand if we can open another window in our future to be not so extreme but also a little bit more politically correct and elegant,” Perini said. He said that a key reason for the design shift was that the Asterion rides differently from the Volkswagen Group subsidiary’s current models.

I still prefer timelessly classic lines, such as the discontinued McLaren 12C.

I'd op for the new Ford GT over this. The concept reminds me of the Ascari, only the Ascari GT was better looking and a phenomenal performance car.

Too tame for a Lambo.

The ASSterion is not unattractive but if you put the Mitsubishi emblem on it, people would think it's a new Eclipse.

It needs to be arresting in the way the Miura was in its day.

Essentially agree with all above.

What comes to mind when I look at the Asterion and the Ford GT: trading places... Ford is launching the Lambo and Lamborghini is proposing the Ford GT replacement.

I can see some audi influence in this, which is not good. This looks like a replica than a classic lambo.
