Analyst Comes To The Realization You Already Know - GM Is Too Slow And Too Generic To Be Competitive
General Motors' management has been too slow to make changes that would improve profitability and too vague in setting near-term milestones for performance, the leader of an investor group seeking a seat on the board said on Tuesday.

"There is absolutely a lack of confidence amongst investors of the company achieving its targets," Harry Wilson told Reuters. "There's a substantial amount of shareholder frustration."

GM revealed Wilson's board aspirations earlier on Tuesday. The former member of the U.S. auto task force that helped restructure the company in bankruptcy in 2009 also plans to propose at GM's annual meeting in June that it launch an $8 billion share buyback program.

Hmmmm. To read this article, you could get the impression that they allege throwing billions of dollars at a failing enterprise doesn't fix it.

The United States itself is now nothing more than just a mediocre country with a bunch of posers who act like they are some sort of European royal family members with a Rolls-Royce or something.

This country is filled with people who are all talks, and nothing real.

And you can see all this in the current GM. And also in Ford. At least Ford is kind of interesting because of the F150 Raptor, Ford GT and a new Mustang (And the rest of all Ford cars are just boring to say the least), but honestly, GM only keeps making dumb mistakes. And Chrysler...this company just can never stay alive without the Europeans.

Pretty much, anything America makes is generic and not very attractive. Like how Apple keeps making the same crap every year. At least Google's Android is a lot more interesting, since the Koreans like Samsung and LG come up with some handsome-looking smartphones.

And not to mention the Japanese make the best cars for the middle class families, and really fun to drive sports cars. Japan understands "fun" better than the Americans.

And let us not talk about the Europeans here, because we all know they are practically the best in almost every field, they make America look...ridiculous to say the least.

Honestly, America really better bring back some "fun" factors in their products.

Well, at least America gets something right, like the show Breaking Bad.

When I speak to people on matters of perception, I explain that although they might perceive the world as binary, as being either black or white, it's actually multi-faceted, with each facet represented by a scale if infite graduations.

With respect to America, it isn't one "thing" that's either good or bad. It is multi-faceted, with various parts doing well and others no so much. Examples include:

- Government: Many Federal policies have not panned out well, while others have.

- Industry: Some industries (e.g., GM) are like lumbering dinosaurs, postponing extinction by way of massive cash infusions from taxpayers (bailouts), while others (e.g., Apple Computer Inc., the planet's most valued company) are thriving and showing the world that America can do awesome.

- People: Some folks feel entitled to a job, to a certain standard of living, to privilege. You might find some of them on a UAW assembly line. Others have brilliant ideas and create value for others (e.g., Elon Musk, founder of Tesla Motors and employer of thousands).

As you can see, America, as a nation, has both challenges *and* things to be proud of. It's not black or white.

If the things America can be proud of are nothing but a few things like the ones you mentioned, then it makes every American very hard to be proud of their own country.

And everything makes it worse, when the U.S. is compared to the European countries in terms of quality of life, healthcare, education and infrastructure (Many Americans don't seem to understand what infrastructure even is, when this is absolutely necessary for the development of the industries and the economy of the country)

And it is even more irritating, when the U.S. companies keep producing a bunch of mediocre and/or generic products like GM and Ford do, when the Germans, the Italians and the British are fighting against each other on the hyper car level (918, LaFerrari, etc)

And also very laughable when the U.S. media keeps showing how the rich Americans live like some sort of European royal family members (And some actually even act like one like Scott Disick does, or they sport a fake British accent)

It is as though, the whole humble and unique American way of life is now considered as nothing but just a poor, broken and obsolete way of life, according to them.
